    She did it with a folding knife. Daaaang. That takes a REALLY sharp knife, or else a lot of sawing.

      Almost nine years. Based on Shelly’s personality and the fact that she works in a garage (body shop), it’s probably sharp (she’ll be used to keeping her tools well-maintained.

      Or, she’s strong enough that it doesn’t matter. After all, she just through a V8 engine.

      That’s only if you hold it straight to cut it. If you fold it over the knife it just needs to be fairly sharp.

      My thought too: she’s afraid of being alone, because she was left alone by her mother’s death.
