Ye know, I had to do this a few times. Took four fairly burly people. I, alas, may be tall and broad-shouldered but I have the arm muscles of a fish.

I don’t really have a frame of reference here; just how heavy are speakers supposed to be? I used to work for a DJ friend of mine and I could carry both of his largest speakers at the same time by myself; both of them together were probably about the same size as this one, but it seems to weigh about 5 times as much.

I should probably point out that my job was mostly manual labor. I know almost nothing about audio setups.

Actually, that seems to be a bass combo amp. And those suckers weigh quite a lot. Especially ones as big as this… which is to say “friggin’ ginormous”.

        Late to the party, but…

Ordinary powered PA speakers usually won’t weigh more than 40 – 55 lbs or 18 – 25 kg.
But a 18″ subwoofer can weigh much more, easily in the range of 100 to 150 lbs.

150 lbs might not sound like it’s that much, but you have to remember that these are not designed to be easy to carry. Yes there are hand grips on them, but that doesn’t mean they are easy to carry. They are bulky and the center of gravity seems to be located a long way in front of you no matter what way you try rotating that cabinet.

returning to read old strips, I’m smirking at the thought shelly needs help lifting ANYTHING.
This is gal who throws a V-8 across the parking lot.
        I’m saying NOT a V-8 drink, but a V-8 engine.
