Not smart enough for Monica, apparently

I think Dietzel is Monica’s spirit guardian but she is so independent he has grown lazy.

Just for the record – this was the very first Wapsi Square strip I happened upon back in 2001. Love Dietzel!
    – been reading every strip since which has a totally different feel than someone reading through the archive.

Also for the record Monica’s age was first listed as 23 on her original cast page. Given the number of confirmed seasons within the strip, her strip age in 2012 would be 30. In other words Wapsi time moves about 1/2 speed.

    Possible Spoiler (Very minor)!

I think this is the only time that someone other than Dietzel himself points out that Dietzel is (only) a dog, though his lack of thumbs gets mentioned elsewhere.

And if you need a hairdryer…

He is a very smart dog, but Monica really needs to make her instructions a little more specific. “Something to get this soap off of me” can have a lot of temperature variations, but she is lucky he didn’t go with orange juice or worse, a cold beer.
