Agreed. There’s practically nothing left of the old stigma that only nerds wear glasses these days. I can’t imagine a reason good enough to make contacts worthwhile to me.
It used to be that kids who had their noses in books half their waking life went nearsighted and got the glasses. Nowadays though, EVERYONE and their dog has a smartphone 18 inches from their face… and those were built by the kind of people who read books all the time. Also Big Bang Theory has stayed a top-rated show for nearly a decade.
It might be a stretch to say “nerds are cool now” (particularly in children’s schools) but the degree to which they are “uncool” seems much reduced (at least from what it used to be like). Not so much a positive view, but a reduction in the negative view, if I’m making any sense?
I have done this maybe twice both had different reasons I thought I had contacts both times I was so tired the fact that I can see my contacts in the mirror EVERY time they are in did not occur to me as reason to believe that they weren’t in.
Annnd… this is now yet another reason why I won’t wear contacts!

Glasses are more stylish in design now too.

make that three times I just did it again only to remember I wore glasses today
You know your epic when you come back to a webcomic a year later just to update the count of how many times you pinch your eye XD
This is the first time we see Dietzel using the phone…..
Hello?
Not only is he dialing a phone…
…he knows Amanda’s phone number!
I wish my two Ferrets were that intelligent…
Owwww. Yeah, contacts aren’t for me. Thanks to a long time of wearing glasses, my flinch reflex is way too strong.
