Oh man, that kind of social anxiety is a real kick in the teeth. Even when you KNOW intellectually and factually that people would not do X if they did not like you, your anxiety-brain INSISTS that they must hate you/find you annoying/don’t really want to speak to you/etc. and it can take years of work to be able to talk that anxiety-brain down or work around it. I hope hanging out with the girls supports her finding a way through that.

When I was that age, I didn’t call people because *I* didn’t want to talk to them: I can’t recall worrying about whether they talked to me.
