The Akashic Record and the Stone Tape theory make for wonderful plot devices for a group of supernatural kiddos. Add their emotional instability and their inherent nervousness, and you’ve got fodder for decades.
I agree, good devices. They have the advantage of being new to fantasy fiction (although Prince used The Akashic Record on an album in 2001). I’m really tired of zombies and vampires, and I appreciate something new. Being a look-it-up kind of guy, I offer trivia: The Akashic Record (originally plural) is from Theosophy. Madame Blavatsky herself cooked it up, from a Sanskrit term for “sky.” “[T]he records are encoded vibrationally into the inherent fabric of space….” Rudolf Steiner and Edgar Cayce claimed to read them. So sayeth Wikipedia.
Given how little ordinary matter has anything in it, everything is like 99.999% akashic record. One wonders about white dwarves, which are atoms squished electron shell to electron shell or neutron star matter, which are atoms squished nucleus to nucleus or black holes which are atoms squished to a single point. What happenes to the lost akashic record space?
It’s like backsplashing; you heat water in a microwave to almost boiling, but it still remains calm until you disturb it with a thrown utensil, causing it to erupt (usually violently) . I believe that’s the basis behind Rozzy’s argument on haunting.
Yup
Fits right in, don’t she?
I love Daylla’s expression in the last panel…

You could hide a lot in the space between atoms…
Mindy and Barbara had the same conversation just before the gang visited Barbara’s ancestral home, and look what happened there.
I was thinking the same thing 🤔
Can has Akashic record players?
The theory actually sounds legit to me…there is a ton of space between the atomic nucleus and the lowest electron levels
Yay, Rosslyn’s back! I was hoping we’d come back to her.

Is all vacuum akashic record space?
assuming space was present to then be lost is a wrong-path. see ‘defrag’ and ‘multi-fluid hydrology’.
