She’s talking about cutting wood to a living multidimensional plant. Imagine if someone started talking about doing scrimshaw on human finger bones around you. Cass must be impressed and appalled at the same time… She’s impalled…
Nice to dee thrre was domething to help her deal with the world and not be such an easy target to those that would love to take advantage of her sensory issues.
Rosewood and walnut are both known sensitizers – breathing the dust from them can trigger asthma and other allergies, and possibly even cancer. I hope Briar is wearing a good (N95) dust mask when working!
Looking briefly at her archived entries, I don’t think we did.
They were probably part of the additional support services that Bryn Andersen said she was going to request from Director Oduya (https://wapsisquare.com/comic/dropped-the-ball/). That was the last strip in which Briar appeared, until today.
I think some time has passed since her last appearance, but I don’t recall (or haven’t noticed) if one of those “156 weeks have passed” strips has been inserted.
Right, started back-tracking after making that comment (then started going forward again from that point, and then jumping back to the end of the Kath & Sali adventure 😛 )
Kinda just liked the idea that everyone else shot up like a weed except for the lil stinkweed 😛
This comic is awesome. You are a amazing writer. The way you have handled topical concerns and issues, has been thoughtful and compassionate.
Wish you the best. Hope you find your peaceful spot.
Last I heard, “Neuro-divergent” was the PC in-term for people with a broad spectrum of developmental brain issues. The spin is that their brain isn’t “defective” just “different”. Part of me wonders if cushioning reality this much is actually helpful to them, but I will grant, one interesting side effect of Neurodivergence is they do sometimes have very interesting and unique ideas, because their thought process takes a different path to get there than most regular people’s do. There’s definite benefits to that if you can find a way to use it to your advantage,.
Information overload. Please hit reset🤣😂

I really need to be more careful when using my phone to post where I cannot edit my boo-boos.
Her wood shaves bring all the boys to the yard arm
And their Yarr is better than your’s
Rose wood, if you can get it.
Someone might have an issue with her talking about using rose wood …
Wood from a rose, or rosewood?

I see what you did there…
Are these the new AR Goggles that Google is testing?
And now for something completely different…
“I bought a ’34 wagon and we call it a Woody…it’s not very cherry it’s an oldie but a goodie…”
Talking to the Eldritch-Plant-Girl about she likes all kinds of wood……
I presume this rustled up some wierd feelings in our little Thornbush……
When did we learn about Briar’s earlier interface glasses? I seem to have missed that installment.

So, “offstage”.
Sounds about right. Just seemed like “Whoa! What did I miss? moment.

I wonder how Briar rates Blackthorn for making wooden models…
How about “not very co-operative”?
I seems as if Castela’s day is filling up with increasingly confusing conversations. I don’t think she’s “out of the woods” yet…
Ahh infodumping, one of us Autistics’ greatest skills. Just verbal vomit of everything we know on a topic we’re fascinated on.
Number 1… The larch!
…
The larch
Must be hard to get Briar out of the bottle once she finishes the model ship in there.
Is Castela breaking the fourth wall in the last panel? If so, it works.
Heh, Stela got her eyes back in the first panel, only to lose them again in the last one 🙂
Wait, when did Briar get so tall? Last time we saw her (in the link Dave posted above) they were about the same height
In that comic, Briar is seated. the day just before shows her in the chair. https://wapsisquare.com/comic/why-im-here/

Briar is the obtuse one that keeps getting lost, right?
Yep. She has geographic dyslexia.
