Digit looks so sad in that first panel.

With that single raised spider-eyebrow, I’d say she looks bemused.

Eyebrows can anthropomorphise even a spider.

And with the way this comic is set up…..funny how ‘cute’ in Japanese is one letter away from being ‘scary’.

Digit is just so freaking adorable! That ‘grrr’ cloud in the last panel. XD

Phobias make perfectly rational people into babbling lunatics. I know (or have known) people who are (were) scared of spiders, roaches, lizards, preying mantises, walking sticks (insects), earthworms, even cats.

Agrecian: and most times, their phobias can not just be ‘willed away’ or ‘overcome by association therapy’
Oldest sister is absolutely freaked out by spider webs, specially if she walks into one, she doesn’t like spiders but really gets freaked out by the webs

A phobia is defined as an irrational fear.

Fun fact: jumping spiders are capable of basic problem solving, planning, and foresight. They are one of the smartest types of arachnids, and one of the smartest types of arthropods.

    Jumping spiders also watch TV.

I know it’s rude to poor Digit. But I’m right there with Amanda.

That would be me too. Hopefully I’d have enough wits about me to apologize.

Please, don’t try and force Amanda to ‘change’, for one thing, not once as Amanda attempted to introduce Digit to old-fashioned newsprint journalism, fairly sure they can come to an arrangement where Amanda agrees to leave Dietzel alone and Digit won’t scare Amanda

Bees. Mine is bees. Possibly because I walked into a hive at an early age. I used to freeze solid around bees. Nowadays I just try to keep moving.

Yeah? Easy to say when it’s an image on a screen, tell that to the spider next to you
