That aside, my heart aches for Castella right now. Ignoring the behaviours and stuff that she had and all that stuff, its still like getting punched in the gut and heart. Had that feeling when my now ex broke up with me out of the blue (Long distance relationship=too much strain for him). It hurts and its not a fun feeling to go through no matter how you got to that point.
I’m hoping she can remain friends with Scarlet and Timothy after she has time to process and heal. At the very least I hope she doesn’t lash out at them.
Actually, it occured to me that the person to calm her down would be Uncle Kevin, rather than Aunt Bud. He’s faced heartache at the hands of Aunt Monica.

However, someone who knows what to do to umm ‘defuse’ the situation will be right around the corner… I hope. Really I do.

A might be Shelly Talk with The best person to talk ith Castela might be Shelly (not the only one, but the beast). She sought (and lost) both Owen and Heather, both with a lot of angst, before finding Justin. And both those two are still in her life, though not as life partners. After her ten minutes in the timeforest, Heather was her first contact. And Shelly might share an occasional fermented banana with Owen. If Shelly had paired with either of her earlier interests, it would have Ben suboptimal for everybody, herself included! For Pickle, losing Timothy is painful and humiliating . But what does she have in common with Timothy other than age? There are other lions on the savanna!
The fact that, while in both emotional distress and physical pain Scarlet didn’t lose form, but that Castela loses it with just the emotional side says a lot about the level of upset she’s experiencing. Scarlet had some help from her mother to work through the initial stages of disappointment; Cas is getting her world turned upside-down all in one shot.
It also says a lot about their emotional maturity. Just because she didn’t “lose” it, doesn’t mean Scarlets pain is any less painful or significant from her point of view than Castela’s… it just means she’s more in control of and capable of handling her emotional states.
However, there’s also just the sheer scope of their.. natures. I don’t think Scarlet is as capable of leveling a building as Pickles is… She probably has the freedom to break down, cry, beat up a pillow. Pickles is a distinct and immediate threat when she gets riled, and “I can’t cry because people will melt” can be a hard thing to care about when YOU are hurting.
This won’t end well.
