The great mystery is why she’s in high school.

Scholastic knowledge and… (what shall we call this?) Situational Awareness, don’t necessarily use the same parts of the brain. She could have an eidetic memory for everything she reads, aces all her tests (presuming she can locate the exam room.)

    Lots of sensory issues.

Does her… brain fog clear? This doesn’t seem to be a sustainable way of life. Waaaay beyond Finding Dory….

And does she know Billy Pilgrim?

She may perceive time very differently to others. It might mess with her spatial positioning.

And I thought slipping into the space between spaces on occassion was bad.

The teacher thinks; ‘All the students in the world, and I gotta get the belaboring one…’

Oh, I can’t relate but I can still feel her pain (I was never a teacher).

You don’t necessarily need to be a “teacher” to feel teachers’ pain. We all have moments in life where we get to teach someone else something. And sometimes moments where we fail to teach someone else. Sometimes, it’s our fault. And then other times, it’s not.

I’m reminded of times I went to try to help students who asked for it, but clearly were not ready for it. But also times where I’ve been directed to help coworkers who also clearly weren’t ready for it.

[continuing Some Ed’s point] Or you’re dealing with botton-of-the-barrel temps that have to be told to wash their hands after digging in their noses despite being grown adults.

Oh frell. Is she living live not just by being displaced in location but by being displaced in time as well. A life lived NOT in a linear fashion?

To Briar, causality is apparently something that happens to somebody else. Occasionally.

O …. M …. G !!!! She is the Physical Embodyment, AND Avatar of Cognitive Dissonance!! She’s Scaring them.
Is this a Adolecenmt Succubus Thing or is Briar the Full Incanation of a Recessive Trait that Atsali , [As a Hybrid,] is only partially Smitten with?

How often does she pass out because she loses track of what comes after exhalation?

It seems she loses track from one sentence to the next.

      how about “no memory”
after all, she’s forgetting what happens between sentences or even what the last sentence was.

    A) The drama club has its lead for it’s staging of Memento this year; and

    B) I realized Ms. Alger’s body type is just an upside-down Standard Wapsi and now I can’t unsee it.

Ms. Alger used to be overall slim. I do wonder what her para type is, and if she had to study the wall-healing spell, or if it just came naturally. As for her body type, give her time.

Interesting observation — all the girls tuck their ties into their shirts — except Briar, where it hangs freely in mid air.

        I don’t think she’s ‘wound’ at all.
In fact, she couldn’t find the ‘winding room’.

If Briar is like this, one wonders if her sister is similarly causality-challenged…

    October 12, 2020, 8:44 am | # | Reply

What if Briar didn’t disappear, but is instead and N-dimensional being, and the school extends into the N-dimensions, but only those able to perceive the N-domensions can see & access those parts of the school? So, although she followed their directions, she didn’t take into account their limited perceptions.

I laughed so hard and so long at the teacher’s reaction.
It is SOOOO obvious she has information about this student we are not yet privy to.
