When I eat broccoli, I smother each piece in honey mustard first. to the point I have a yellow blob on my fork with zero hint of green

“High maintenance? You mean, aside from the ten pounds of raw beef everyday?”

That last one is pretty common. My sister dips her fork in dressing before each bite of salad, that way she gets the right amount of dressing in each bite instead of having a big pool of it at the bottom of the bowl.

Also, there’s the “taking a huge bite of ice cream”. Nothing human can do that.

I’m failing to see how any of that is high maintenance. That’s just good common sense. At least in my book.

“bro you can bang and cuddle with” Sounds like the ideal relationship to me.

strip typo: “you dip you lettuce…” should probably be “you dip your lettuce…”

I have always wondered why people dip their salad in a sauce bowl… I guess it’s kinda like eating fried chicken with a knife and fork.

There’s three possible reasons, one of which has already been mentioned in another comment.

      2) The salad doesn’t get soggy with the dressing sitting on it for a while.

      3) Dipping each bite (or dipping the tines of the fork and then getting a bite of salad) tends to use less dressing than pouring it over the salad. This decreases the fat and calorie content of the salad as a whole. You know, for people who care about that sort of thing.

Can someone explain this strip for me please? First she is worried about being high maintenance, then she actually wants to be difficult, but then hearing about how she is afraid of spiders assuages her. I’m just having trouble following the conversation

To quote Justin: “Nothing on earth can hurt you.” and two strips back (where she voices the need to be girly) she’s basically destroying a punching bag, ala Steve Rogers. She’s basically an indestructible killing machine and is afraid of losing her ‘girly’ side. She may perceive “girly-girls” as being high maintenance. This strip is Justin’s way of supporting that need/want.
She wants to feel like his girlfriend, not a ‘bro with benefits’.

The conclusion to these points he’s making is: “Not one of my guy friends could get away with any of these things without being teased mercilessly. For you, these are your endearing quirks. Ergo, you are absolutely not my “bro”.”
