    I think I’d do this–but not with a $1500 bike…

Imagine if you paid $5500 for it and did that schtick? 😛

I’d probably do that while RIDING the bike… and break every bone in my body during the process

More likely at the END of the process.

Is this a recognizable location near Lake Calhoun? Pablo used real sites later on, and the stairs near the lake show up a few times in Wapsi Square.

A note to me-of-the-past and other curious readers: damn skippy it’s real. That’s one of the stairways down to the lakefront off of East Calhoun Parkway, somewhere around 31st to 33rd street. There are a few that look similar from the top, the best fit being 31st which has a phone pole in the right place.

i dont think we have those in england (least not where i live)
most we have are gaps from the pavement to the chicane to let bikes go through (not that ive seen any of them actually use it) but on steps…no little bike ramp..
    its a good idea 🙂

that said most steps now have a wheelchair-access-ramp/slope nearby so thats possibly why 🙂

yes I don’t know how the rules are set up in england but here in the states most things have to be ADA accessible, especially around campus (which is where I am usually commuting to on my bike) and you could if you really wanted to ride into buildings or at least find a route to your building with no stairs… However riding into buildings should really only be attempted when there aren’t a lot of classes going on.

I think it is actually a conveniently placed gutter. So useful but more of a what people have learned to do with it than what it is actually for

I love this strip. I remember reading it in college in the school library while working on research papers between classes.
