Especially since she went to a furniture store that covers 30 city blocks to buy it…

How many furniture stores other than IKEA have you seen that are anywhere near that big?

I didn’t even know that Minneapolis had an Ikea. I’ve been gone way too long.

It might not have been in Minneapolis. Or even in North America. The three have a superhuman Miles Program…

We have a Menards nearby that is nearly that size. OK, it’s building stuff and tools too, but still.
And, yes, at one time it was the largest Menards in the world. Until an even bigger one opened up a few hours’ drive away.

You don’t get it. In X thousands of years, this is he first time the girls have been individuals with a need to personalize their space. That lamp is a landmark.

More to the point; she knows she was an engine of genocide once. She’s expressed a desire to try “fixing things” for a change.
That she bought a type of simple lamp that nonetheless required assembly seems noteworthy.

She’s MADE something now, and it is bright and warm.

Especially if she takes a first aid course so she can help the people that step on the dropped Legos.

The term “lol” is used entirely too often, but I really did laugh out loud at that last panel. A loud, obnoxious laugh. Bravo.

What’s there to laugh about in the last panel? I’d say it’s rather “d’awww”-worthy.

As cataclysmic as the storyline may sometimes be, I remain impressed by our host’s ability to, as it were, play the softest notes just as easily as the sharpest.

    Beautiful. ^_^

Did anyone else notice her shadow in panel one? This tells us it’s evening – implying she spent hours deciding what to get. Which in turn says how important this was to her. Without a word!

For a girl tossed into a dark pit filled with pain and horror, a little light has enormous value.
