I LOVE how all three women are posed! You could flip the two in the first frame & stick Tina in the middle & you could create your own *Charlies Angels* poster.
That second Charlie’s Angels poster could be the chimera. In fact, with the addition of bottles, I think that may have been the tongue in cheek source for the original appearance of the Guardian Golem Girls.
Took me a while figuring out exactly how to position them and then even longer searching online for a Really Good Explosion – i considered a couple of nuclear fireballs, but then i hit that one…
The thing that caught my attention about “little girl” is the fact that Tina has used that term only once before – when talking about Jin and her “passenger”.
I was wondering that as well. Since Amanda is a “coffee-black” kind of person who isn’t in on all the weirdness … how’s she going to react to the teeth … and the EYES. =-o
Honestly, if this were a real life situation (I know, I know, quit groaning already!) it wouldn’t be so hard to explain. I mean, theater contacts and those fangs they sell around Halloween. Easy as pie. So long as no one asks her to remove said props…
If you can learn a lot about people when they’re bored, that implies that someone bored = someone interesting. A bit more Tina-and-her-oracular-wisdom in this storyline and I’m going to become FASCINATING.
@Gunnr. I think so. The counter top is fairly new, but the painting of the Virgin of Guadelupe isn’t. I see now that Tina wasn’t touching the counter top yesterday, but the design was still visible. There goes one theory…
1) Eye candy, yas. Had to say that to get it out of the way.
2) Intriguing, entirely human characters (even the demons and otherworldly ones) are more human than a lot of flesh-and-blood people that I know). In another life, I think having any one of these ladies in my life would be a journey of awesome proportions.
3) Those teeth on Tina, and the GGG. (If I ever met a young lady with teeth like that, I’m not sure what kinds of thoughts would run through my head).
4) The way that alternate-color text always seems to have greater significance for future plot developments.
5) Eye candy, yas. 😉
@ The Old Wolf — I had top teeth like Tina’s once upon a time — incisors noticeably longer than the rest of my front teeth and very sharply pointed. (They’re not quite so noticeable now; time and dentistry have blunted them over the years). I inherited them from my dad (a Leo, wouldn’t you know). Neither mom nor I knew that until this truly obnoxious boy in 6th grade started teasing me about my “fangs,” and he told me he’d gotten teased about his, too. That’s when I found out why his teeth were so perfect — he had been wearing full dentures since the age of 22 (before he met my mom) — He was a Marine. Spent 4 years in the Pacific during WWII. His division did a lot of island hopping (Guadal Canal, Tarawa, Okinawa). Once they landed, they were rationed to only one canteen of fresh water a day –when they could get it! (The Corps issued tooth brushes, but he used his to clean his rifle.) What growing up during the Depression started, the war finished. He’ll be 88 in August. Semper Fi, dad.
Semper Fi Gunnr’s dad. My old man fought in WWII also. In the Navy, he was a turret gunner in a TBM Avenger for a good part of it. Was at Guadalcanal flying missions up the slot. Ah … I could go on …
I can’t help but wonder what Daren’s coffee profile would be. And what secrets would Tina spill for Daren to mop up. Hm. BTW, are we gonna find out soon if Phix has had a dinner date yet?
Got to wondering today. If Monica tries to keep the … unusual … aspects of her life separate from the … mundane … aspects, as she seems to be (ultimately, i’m sure, unsuccessfully, given Nudge’s meddling) here, what if Shelly’s new boyfriend is the same blonde cop that got the Full Treatment from Bud?
If he is, he’s inevitably gonna meet Shelly’s friends.
And if he is, he’s Very Likely to remember Bud…
Is he the same guy – or just another tall blonde Viking type?
I think yes. They’ve got the same nose, and Pablo is certainly able to plan ahead and give Officer Cute Buns a cameo before he’s pounced on by Shelly formally introduced.
That is indeed the same officer, wearing contacts. His fellow officers hid his contacts because they knew that Shelly has a thing for bespectacled nerdy-looking hunks. 🙂
The library, no doubt. Phix has returned home, then?
Man I want to marry Tina…
I want to stalk Tina… >_>
I want Tina to stalk ME.
…er, wait. Do I want that?
careful, she’ll eat your soul and add it to the collection
That’s assuming said dietary supplement is still available for consumption.
Why would Tina want to stalk anyone if she can simply take a look at their aura and know everything there is to know about the person?
I LOVE how all three women are posed! You could flip the two in the first frame & stick Tina in the middle & you could create your own *Charlies Angels* poster.
You mean, sorta like this?
I think that in the classic Charlie’s Angels poster, the “angels” on the outsides are supposed to be facing outwards, like this.
On the other hand, one of the more modern movie logo images is a bit closer to the mark.
That second Charlie’s Angels poster could be the chimera. In fact, with the addition of bottles, I think that may have been the tongue in cheek source for the original appearance of the Guardian Golem Girls.
Yeah, well…
Picky picky picky.
I wasn’t being picky. I was just saying.
Not you – Ray.
That is hilarious!! Good job!
Tina: Well Charlie, that job’s done! What’s next?
Mon: Uh, was the explosion really necessary??
Amanda: Jeez, I can’t take you two anywhere…
WAAAAAAAAALLpaper! 😀
If Pablo doesn’t mind, i can post the version wihout the copyright notification…
Took me a while figuring out exactly how to position them and then even longer searching online for a Really Good Explosion – i considered a couple of nuclear fireballs, but then i hit that one…
BTW – my title for the piece is (of course) “Pablo’s Angels”
Me again. The observant long-time reader will note that there is an error in that version which i failed to consider till just now.
I have fixed it on the latest version, as well as fixing a minor glitch in “colouring:”.
Absolutely delightful. And MerchManDan‘s dialog fits like a glove.
That poster is 1000% win. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
Awesome.
So are the GGs Tepoz’s Angels?
“Once upon a time, there were three little girls who were supposed to guard a antideluvian steampunk Coke machine from beyond…..”
Nah – Pablo’s Angels
I, for one, find it potentially interesting that Tina keeps referring to Amanda as “little girl.”
Good point. I hope we get a full report later; I love hearing Tina’s view of people.
Indeed! Clearly, “Nudge” sees something about Amanda, which has so far evaded Mon and probably Amanda herself.
The thing that caught my attention about “little girl” is the fact that Tina has used that term only once before – when talking about Jin and her “passenger”.
Hello,
Nurse!Phix!Ah, yes. Giving them a nudge, are we?
I love the graphic designs on the countertop. Is that La Virgin de Guadelupe over Monica’s left shoulder in the top frame?
Yes, that’s Our Lady.
I like Tina…….She’s smart. 🙂
Will Amanda notice Tina’s … odd … dentition?
I was wondering that as well. Since Amanda is a “coffee-black” kind of person who isn’t in on all the weirdness … how’s she going to react to the teeth … and the EYES. =-o
I didn’t even think about the Christmas-ornament eyes…

Clearly , Monica is still a bit anxious about our dear Tina , spilling the beans , as it were .
Yep . Tina’s still my favorite . <3
Would that be… Shelly beans? 😀
No. Coffee beans.
That’s an interesting design in the counter top there. What is that anyway?
Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli. You might want to read the comments here: http://wapsisquare.com/comic/call-me-nudge/ .

So much to love about this strip.

Phumph, I wish this board would allow editing my typos…
Indeed…”Phumph” should be “pfumpf”, yuk yuk yuk…

I wonder what Phix’s coffee profile would be. Or would that be, coffee phix?
Phix prefers tea.
Let’s hear it for boring!
Whoa, dude…what’s boring?
Talk about wisdom from the mouths of babes…

I am loving Tina’s new figure. Curvvvvy.
