    That went well.

Although, in a school full of paranormals, where at least one teacher is a high-level mage, it feels as if statements like “I made you some chocolate” might be dangerous. It might turn out to actually happen… and I believe that Blackthorn and cacao trees require very different growing conditions.

That phrasing caught my attention too; Shawna presumably cooked something rather than buying it at the store. I think only Castela blooms forth into flowers…

Followed by an excited “you made me CHOCOLATE!”

Oh, God, the look on stinkweed’s face. Both kids hit the mark perfectly.

I predict lots of Valentines smooches.

Not yet it’s not, now they can talk about it (well, that would be the sensible thing to do…)

I don’t think Castela has ever done better human eyes. Chocolate works wonders.

I agree with her. Also, anyone who can actually make chocolate is hot.

yes.. generally 98.6 or so (human body temp is the approximate melting point of chocolate)

    She… MADE… Chocolate????

Does Shawna realize she just rolled a permanent Critical Hit on Castela’s heart?

This is why drawings hang on the kitchen refrigerator and the ornaments made by the kids are kept and return to the Christmas tree every year despite having pieces that are fancier. They are made with love.

I did that on V-day for a girl once. That girl is now my wife of 19 years.

To quote the (very wise) Old Wolf above, chocolate works wonders.

I cannot find the ST:NG clip (TMI..), but that was a good one..
Riker left a mysterious clue for Troi to decode and find the next clue – each clue had a lovely flower or treat..

If Shawna is cooking up candy in return for a rock, she ought to make quartz of it.

(Dave places some semi-precious scones into the Pun Jar)

LOL I stopped off at the store late on V-day and the valentines candy had already been replaced with chocolate bunnies…

See, I’d rather have a handmade item that someone made me with affection than anything store bought

Or a gift card to a craft store.

yeah. Those are pretty romantic to me. :3

    Shawna knows Stela has sweet-tooth

Wonder if she used a mold for the chocolate, or went ‘free-style’

Come to think of it, home-baking your own chocolate treat for Valentine’s day, to give to your romantic interest, is common in Japan (although obviously this favours those who can actually cook competently). Now that probably won’t ENTIRELY get you out of feeding the corporate retail engine… cooking ingredients, recipe magazines, maybe some heart-shaped baking molds…

… but ultimately it’s something you spent time and effort to make by hand (possibly a LOT of time and effort, if you don’t know what you’re doing in the kitchen and it required a number of attempts) rather than just bought on your way home from work/school. This effort tends to make a stronger impact with the one you fancy.

And of course, chocolate is always chocolate; it’s inherently a good thing!

Yet I am not a dog, and neither are you, and dogs do not celebrate Valentine’s Day.
        Your objection is not relevant.
