“Oh, a ghost? Sorry, didn’t see it. Let me work out the science of ghosts.” “Ghosts don’t have science! They’re mysterious and scary!” “I know, dear. We have power. Come on, I’ll fix you a nice cup of tea.”
“As a duly designated representative of the City, County and State of New York, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return forthwith to your place of origin or to the nearest convenient parallel dimension.”
I really need to use that quote next time I go ghost hunting… lol Question. If it said window spook asks “Are you a GOD?” Can one of these kids say yes?
Many years ago, just as the early Youtube and similar sites started to show amateur video sleuths “ghost hunting” or visiting “haunted” locations I recall stumbling upon someone’s general critique of the cliche nature of nearly all such endeavors. I wish I would have saved it, as it was short and to the point and called the whole approach of 99% of all such videos to task. They all follow the same script with only a few minor details changed out. Sort of like the, now classic, Scream rules of horror movies, nearly every ghost/haunted video feels the same.
This insistence here that the explanation of the visage at the window is furniture is NOT the trope, the trope is the insistence that it is not.
You’re thinking of a hypothesis. To slightly oversimplify it, scientific process begins with the formation of a hypothesis, which is then tested and re-tested, results are published, and then tested by others. The hypothesis will change based on the results of said vigorous testing, and the results will then be compiled into a scientific theory. Further, a theory is not “an unproven law”, but rather a law is a statement that something is true, and a theory is an explanation of WHY it’s true.
Basically, a hypothesis is a limited explanation of a phenomenon, a scientific theory is an in-depth explanation of the observed phenomenon, and a law is a statement about an observed phenomenon or a unifying concept

Does Mindy have heart pupils?
No, that’s just the highlight. =)

Mindy can say “An eighth, at least”. I’m not sure if that’s enough to help.
C’mon, Mindy, put this in words we can all understand.
BOO-ya; or, SPIRIT in one hand and wish in the other; or, What GHOST around comes around; or, PHANTOM is a phan-boy, or…
Trope, trope, trope the girls are marching!

Maybe Mindy is fourth-walling at Paul?
Remember Barb, a theory is not fact, it’s what people use to explain things they don’t understand, like honest politicians

Yes, it’s an explanation of what they believe it to be
And yes, always appreciate when someone explains things betterer than me 😀 (not sarcasm)
Something tells me the “small girl” Mindy saw is actually Barbara (as she was when she was much younger) 🤔
Something like reading ahead, maybe? -_-
