…And this is from someone who could make “Day of the Triffids” look truly horrifying…

Even the near indestructible are vulnerable sometimes, in some ways.

Fear doesn’t care about how physically indestructible you are

I think her Real Fear is misidentified, and misdirected. In her current situation it is also inevitable, and inescapable. ‘Stella fears Being Alone! Currently because of Where she is. Ultimately because of WHAT she is. No “Neigh Invulnerability” does NOT Help! She never looks more vulnerable then when she doesn’t want to scare people.

I think Castela just needs to calm down by taking a nap in her pot. Because it’s dark, and comfy, and it’ll keep her mostly contained if she unravels.

It’s also a more defensible position. One entrance, and she can keep her eyes on it.

Yeah, but will she fit?

Good Call!. She is a little “tightly wound” right now. I’d think she’s upgraded her Sleeping arrangements after her Growth Spurt, but even if she hasn’t, does it really matter if she still fits? It it allows her to unravel , even partially, and r-e-l-a-x, that’s all it has to do.

There’s nothing in the dark that’s not there in the light, Castela.

That is SO T-o-t-a-l-l-y ADORABLE!!
Castela is semiconscious about it, but she’s well aware she’s an Engine of Destruction on par with her Aunts [the Golems.] She was devastated that even Aunt Bud gave off a Fear Scent. If she thought about it, and I’m sure she has, that would mean that some aspect of both Bud, and she herself is stilll human. In an odd way, she should find irrational fears reassuring. Adorable!

Courage might sometimes overcome Fear. But Boredom will always supplant it.

You sir, owe the pun jar. A large planter might be appropriate. Well done!

why do i see a big @$$ hole in a wall real soon…?

irrational fears.. are irrational , can’t be explained or reasoned .!! (my little niece ((8)), can’t sleep if any door in her room is opened a fraction,, closed or opened all the way is fine… as to why when asked,, “I don’t know.”..)

And that’s the thing: it’s the ‘don’t know’ that fuels the fear

fear is *always* irrational. Its cause might be rational, but fear never is. You might have been biten by a dog a thus have a fear of dogs, and that seems rational, but it isn’t. Rational would be to be afraid of THAT dog, but not of other dogs, even smaller, more friendly or apathethic dogs. But anyway you will, just because you *know* they’re dogs too, even if they do not resemble the biting dogs. Alternatively, you might not be afraid of other animals more likely to bite you. As said, fear is irrational

Not quite . . . fear is a rational response to warn people about things that might harm them.

Phobia is an irrational out-of-proportion fear of something.

Castela is just determined to work herself into a tizzy.

. . .

How much longer until she calls Shawna for a boob delivery?

Personally seeing it the other way: she’s doing her best not to work her self into a tizzy, by rationalizing everything, butt things keep cropping up

She may be (subconsciously?) fighting to stave off the knowledge that to many beings, she is a very scary monster.

Is it ‘monsters’ she fears? or the thought of being portrayed as one due to her being a Para?

It’s the unknown, the greatest ‘monster’ known to anything with an imagination
The “What if…?” monster

With the tiny little voice in the back of your mind whispering “But, what if you are not?”
See reply above about the “What if…?” monster (believe most people are more familiar with the name ‘Doubt’), can make even the most strongest, most powefullest, individuals hesitate and pause and to question everything

Hmm, is she afraid of seeing the scary monster eating her toes? Or them hurting themselves on her toes? (personally going with the second option)

“Ah, but Pickle? What if the monster isn’t trying to bite, but just LICK your toes!”
“NNNOOOOO! I’D ALMOST BLOCKED THAT TRAUMATIC MEMORY OF WALKING IN ON ATSALI AND NADETTE! WHY DID YOU RESSURECT IT?!? WHY!?!?!?!”

🥴 Castela‘s legs have gotten a lot more shapely since she was in elementary school 🥳
