She may have a lot of lithium in her makeup. It’s actually less dense than water, and will float.
Of course, lithium is very reactive… in water it immediately reacts, becoming lithium hydroxide and releasing hydrogen gas. Since Daylla isn’t bubbling (except verbally) she can’t be pure lithium, I guess. Maybe she has a noble-metal skin?
There’s a global effect in place (I forget the name) that enables Paras to pass as human. Maybe it is somewhat (or a whole bunch) transformative so Dylia can be fleshy if she leans really hard into it?
Or maybe they’re just in the shallow end of the pool…
No reason she can’t be hollow, or made of a metal foam for that matter.
If it’s the latter she could be just as squishy to the touch as any of us if not more so.
So, let’s see. We already knew about the “ghosts are stone-tape recordings” faction, and the “ghosts are leakages from other parallel universes” faction. We now know there’s a “there’s no such thing as ghosts” faction, and a “shocked at such a blasphemous heresy as that!” faction.
Just as well for the tags: was reminded of a short comic or something with a few people talking about ghosts and one stating that ghosts aren’t real… and it turns out they were arguing with a ghost who vanished when they were told they didn’t exist
Thought Stela was the ghost of a girl who was haunting the pool… talk about awkward if that had been the case 😛
What?!? Wha’da’ya mean, there no such thing as ghosts? I can testify!
I keep hearing the song “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts” from Ghostbusters.
Daylla is living metal. right?
Is she hollwo?
A’cos if she’s not, how can she swim?

Maybe she has sealed cavities with trapped air that help her stop sinking.
It seems like there was a reference to Daylla weighing several hundred pounds . . .

She could be standing on the bottom
She’s not swimming; she’s standing in shoulder deep water…

The club debates should be interesting.
Nothing like floating around in an inner tube to help put somebody at ease.
I cannot wait to find out what kind of Para Rosslyn is. Something tells me it will brighten up the forest.
Devil-girl of some variety – the drawings Paul put up on eBay awhile back show her with her horns and tail.
Considering her attributes, I’m guessing at least some succubus heritage.
