I guess I was thinking about the situation of 7/30/2014, where Castela started going full blackthorn during a major tantrum…I figured she could assume that form at will if she learned to control herself better.
wonder woman can’t shoot power beams. So. I think the human DNA comes from carol Danvers. AKA binary/ Ms.Marvel. who could absorb energy (with cas the energy is sunlight it think. may be she stores it up. ) and shoot it back out in a power beam.
Shapechanging is hard. This form is natural for her. Teenage years are always awkward.
Also, that one time on the Island, when she got a bit angsty and started to change significantly before being snapped back into kid-mode with an ice cream distraction… that suggests to me that a lot of her appearance is subconscious. And when she breaks out in flowers around a crush. I don’t have any conscious control over my heart, kidneys, or most of my bowels… but they do respond to stresses.
Hmmmm. I’m thinking she and Bud could be good for each other on this front. Might be good for each of them to see their own self-doubt in the other, contrasted with what they honestly see in each other.
Waaaaait a minute… so she can go all vine based like we saw in the canyon. How is it that she can’t get rid of her new buds considering she’s not at all pleased with them. Shouldn’t she be able to shift the mass to another location(s)?
Subconscious sabotage is my guess. Or same reason she couldn’t do anything about her stumpy non-ankles. She can hide her scaly bark skin and horns okay, but it would take far more concentration to really bend her “natural” base humanoid shape. So she’s stuck with the human bumps. Hopefully she won’t bloom out of them, a bosom bouquet would be most embarrassing.
One problem- She will NOT look “silly” to any of the “annoying ‘hot’ boys” here age. She had best get some pointers from her big sister on being BOTH dangerous AND attractive. Castela is quite Literally capable of “Nuking from Orbit,” and I can imagine Hiroshi being just stupid enough to tell her she’s “Blossoming.”
B0mar… i think Atsali would be a less than desirable tutor for this lesson, she’s …um, shall we say… clueless about her effect on males… i would better say that she gets her lessons from either Monica, Brandi, Jin, Shelly or yes, even BUD… but NOT Atsali… they all have experience at being “sexy but dangerous” Atsali does not…
This sorta addresses some of my my overly-nosy questions about just how detailed her basic human form is. I assumed that it’s close enough as makes no difference to us apes, for plot reasons, but it’s nice to have confirmation in case she ever gets into a relationship with someone who wasn’t a butterfly.
Hopefully Daylla can reach the lowest rung of the ladder from the bottom of the pool, otherwise she will be in a spot of bother getting out of the pool, if she can’t float
Whatever for! Oxygen is Corrosive to most metals. OTOH, what Metal, or combination of Alloys she is has never been specified, neither has her internal Body Temperature, AND She’s going to the Para-Pool, or the Beach.
Daylla has self reported her weight as 310 lbs [141 kg.] Given her slim build, that’s most likely a NO. The accuracy of that estimate, may be a bit modest, as Dustin’s ribs can attest.
I feel like some sort of timeline is needed just so we can keep track of when and where a time-skip has happened, because it’s getting really confusing trying to keep everything straight for what’s happened where and when when things keep jumping and we just get one or two offhand remarks to even try to piece together how much time has passed since the events of the previous page.
Hmm. Just now thinking — the blackthorn produces a fruit known as “sloe”, used (among other things) to flavor a type of gin. Now I’m imagining Castela becoming a distiller with her own special secret ingredient…
This must be a bit of a time jump… if I recall before her sister left she was going into 6th grade correct? That’s at about 11-12 years assuming no holdbacks (based on my local school district). True we have some 15 year olds in 8th grade, but they normally were held back in elementary school. This would indicate entering about 9-10th grade. So about 4 years?
If she is a plant girl, why *can’t* she get rid of the “mammal-bumps”?

From what I remember, they aren’t far from it. IIRC, legal drinking age for paras is 16.
