Sheik, even if she is hollow, it does not change her mass! Anyone remember the comic where she reveals that? I’m remembering 320, but I can’t remember if she was talking lbs. or kg?
Diving off a 25 foot platform into the shallows tends to go splat, rather than splash. Obviously these girls are a bit tougher than that, but I’d at least expect them to have ended up half-buried head-first in the sand…
I would also expect a fair bit of sand and debris to have been displaced, given Daylila’s mass. I see no sign if it being mixed in with/floating around in the water.
You place the splashdown spot in deep enough water & then when you come up for air & you’re on your way to doing it again, your’e nearer to the shoreline and the less-deep water.
Despite all my cantankerousness; ‘Tina-tina-bobinna’ ftw…
Mostly because Tina is a coven of demons inhabiting a formerly live human body. They might not be able to do much to the demons that make up Tina, but they could easily destroy the body.
In a general sense, I feel like I know the deal about most of the characters in the strip. Daylla, however, is a complete mystery to me. Can someone point me to strips that give her background exposition? Thanks!
Great art, Paul! I love the simplified Bud and Tina in the last two panels. And the backgrounds throughout. And the pretty girlshapes that you’ve made for us, for what? Twenty years? Thank you!
Just beneath the comic is a list of the characters that appear in that episode. Click on any of those names and it will take you to a list of episodes in which that character appears. I leave it to you to find the specific episodes that give Daylla’s backstory.
About the only member of the cast who goes to the sandbar and might be hurt by this is Amanda — and considering that her introduction to paranormality was being dumped into Lake Calhoun from a similar height, I’m not too worried. Kath would just segue into a high dive.
Okay, set up a second, short-range portal on the island. It goes from somewhere along the cliff to a point over deep water at the same level. Mark it with posts or a frame or something (on the island) so people don’t accidentally wander in.
I’d prefer a portal that creates a vortex in the water sucking you down, then dropping you from a height into the water near the vortex so you get an endless water chute.
Portal, the new water park ride from Raging Daughters!
I loved that idea. The graphic was something.
Portal technology to work around climbing the flights of stairs will revolutionize all the water park rides at Raging Daughters!
Daylla got an enchanted swimsuit so she can stay buoyant?
Must have.
Yeah, that makes sense. My first thought was “how is she floating?”
What’s to keep her from being mostly hollow?

Makes sense; metal golem or no, aircraft carriers and combat frigates weigh thousands of tons more than she does but they still float…
dudes. They are not bobbing in the deep end, it’s the shallows…

Sure. Rat her out. They couldn’t possibly do anything to her.
Well when you consider that Tina, while a member of a titans lineage still seems to be squishy.

Can you say sellout? I knew you could…
Vorlonagent called it!
Called who specifically.
Look who made the first comment on yesterday’s page.
Castela.
I somehow KNEW that was gonna happen.
I love that everyone seems to spew water in a stream after the dive.
…OF COURSE someone was gonna walk through the divingportal.
OF COURSE it would be those two.
~:)P
The look on Bud’s and Tina’s face in the last panel, when ‘Stela says it is a great idea.
Well, it was still an accident. The portal hadn’t been put back in proper place.
But how do a lot of good ideas happen … by accident.
The last comment. That could be an issue.
Paaaneeellll fooooor! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Fairly sure Day is still a mystery to nearly everyone (except the author… maybe)
Other than she’s made of living metal and has been friends with Castela since kindergarten, not much is known about Dayla.
How you’re thinkin with portals.

Not sure if these two are the worst ones to be the first through, or the best ones 😀
Day reminds me of the Baby from “Disney’s Dinosaurs” after he gets thrown across the room: “Again!”

Half a cookie for me. I called Castelea but not who she wuld show up with.
This gag is awesome. I’d like to see this become Paul’s version of Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown.
Bud: Caaaaaastela…I’ll hold the portal open and you come running through…right onto the beach…I promise!
Nice trick though…They totally fell for it.
Castela had been a devote member of the Church of the Holy Canine for many many years now. 😛
