Is that Castela he ran over, or is that an innocent bystander?

The “characters” tag mentions Castela, as well as Daylla and Hiroshi, and no one else. So… I guess it’s a case of True Love Strikes!

        I hear they have a strong union…

Yeah, I think that’s Castela he nearly gave athlete’s face to.

        Maybe her sprouting is contagious.

Either it’s Castela or a blonde Cricket. Or it might be a new character to be added to the mix.

I like Daylla more and more. I especially like how Paul is drawing her hair now.

what i don’t get, is that he SAW her go to the restroom, heck he saw the EXACT DOOR she used… yet he was STILL running full tilt as if he was running PAST that point… otherwise he would have started slowing down sooner if he was going to end up being STOPPED “just outside of the door” that she went into… so why was he STILL running?

Butterflies can stop on a dime, or change direction in a single wingbeat.. Hiroshi may have gotten used to that sort of agility when he was “Reginald”, and forgotten about the square-cube law. It takes human-sized people a lot longer to slow down.

…No it doesn’t, and he doesn’t even look like he was attempting to slow down, as scantrontb said, he’s running full tilt passed (looked that word up, and it seems wrong, but correct…) the door, not to it

My first theory was that he intended to end up on just the other side of the door from where he started, but that doesn’t work, either, because he still should have been decelerating before he got to the door.

      Dudes, Let it go.
It’s a narrative told within the limits of the Author’s perspective. Adapt or Die.

I think he was running to find a nearby place to stand, and got a little too nearby, and ended up jostling Castela as she exited.

You have to stop and smell the roses, Hiroshi, not run over them.

Though these roses come with an emotionally conflicted girl going through puberty attached, one of partial botanical ancestry, whose thorns were designed and intended to kill Fae!

Castela thought she had a butterfly friend in Reginald, and now has a who-knows-what in Hiroshi!

This would be a great time for a little exposition (where are Mr. Veres and his charts when you need them!) and a lot of chocolate!

    Mr. Veres and charts:

(Not the best one, but the best that I could find at three in the morning!)

Well, as long as the charts aren’t produced by Faz.

I would just hazard a guess that it’s really really hard for Pablo to draw motion in a three-panel still comic – despite having used animated GIF technology in the past to show Castela’s plasma bolts.

It would seem that Castela bolted out of the girl’s restroom just as Hiroshi got up to it.

And it’s Gilchrist for the block.

With conventional people this would be a conventional meet-cute. With Pablo in charge I anticipate a more dramatic change.

There’s a hanging shoe nearby that Scantrontb pointed out above.

Ok, well…This is the second time Hiroshi managed to get Castela flat on her back & lying on top of her. The fact that this time he’s wearing clothes makes it only slightly less awkward.

    I am reminded of an episode of my own; She was a Senior, I was a Freshman;
    Boys are so stupid.

    Until they are not…
