I have a theory that a lot of the problems in the world are down to the fact that being old hurts, just a little, a lot of the time, which makes those with power pissed off and cranky but not painful enough to seek treatment for it.
I think the world would be a hell of a lot better if everyone over a particular age was given a low dose of painkiller every day.
Speaking as a 51-year-old who hasn’t had a completely pain-free day since the end of the Reagan administration, I can get behind that.
It’s like George Carlin said: “Give me that ice cream every two hours, give me that morphine every… Ten minutes… And turn on the f^(#ing TV!”
Honestly, a bit disappointed with Kath’s behavior in the last panel. Yes, Cass had it coming, but a parent should not always mete out a reaction to “had it coming” that makes the parent look childish and undisciplined too.
This takes me back a long way to my own childhood and a very similar moment. Without going into details, my relations with the parent in question were never the same again.
Castella… you’re technically invulnerable. You should count yourself lucky your ex-special-forces Mama doesn’t express her feelings by unloading a uzi clip into you.
(Yes it would be horribly out of character for wonder-mom Katherine… but still technically not able to damage Castella.)
