PlayaSinNombre, yes I would, and have it with an additional level of security. Multi-layered defenses have proven themselves VERY effective throughout history, which is why castles have employed them. Bleed the attackers as much as you can while preserving your defenders. Raymond E Feist’s Riftwar Saga addresses that in Darkness at Sethanon.
It would be entirely too ironic if we discovered that some time in this sequence was when Castellan developed an antipathy to the fae. Possibly mistakenly.
More than just the fae, I think; these were human paranoids, and I don’t think they made any fine distinctions between ‘types’ of paras – they wanted something that would kill =any= para they deemed in need of it.
Minor nitpick, it’s probably just me, but shouldn’t it be “wouldn’t” in the 3rd panel, not “won’t”? Won’t implies, “I’m not gonna do it now, I could if I wanted to.” Wouldn’t implies, at least to me, “I never will, even if I were ordered to.”
The way I see it, “wouldn’t” is more of a generality: “You know I wouldn’t do that, it’s not like me…”
Right now, Castela, as well as any other stressed out, panicked, fear stricken entity in a similar dangerous/recently violent/stressful situation needs to hear about the specifics: “Don’t worry, I’m not going to hurt you… you can come out, now…” It’s clear, it’s precise. It says that as of right now, no matter what kind of guy I may or may not be usually (and regardless of whether you know me or not), I WILL NOT hurt you, so it’s safe to come out/let me in/defuse whatever situation.
Not a weapon to be used at another’s will, but a warrior who chooses to stand between the innocent and the harm. Appropriate for this day of remembrance.
I’m only wondering if the episode in the lab where she killed the fairies who first showed up came before or after this. This must be after, when the MIB rescued her and the government men are trying to get her back. Then the question is, why doesn’t she remember this, if she remembered the fairies? Hope that little plot element gets answered.
Oh …all the feels. Go Castella!
Have you met her awesome sister Atsali?
Gaelan Marius, an Uncle she has forgotten?
Special Agent Gaelan Marius, from WAAAAAYY back here:

Interesting that he called what he found her “nursery”.
He kinda looks like Nick Fury minus the eyepatch
…Another room inside the safe-room, maybe? Quickest way to make sure she’s secured…
My guess would be, by “nursery” he refers to the pot she was in.
“Widdle pwant stay in pot!”
Well, If you were gonna house a stolen weapon of mass destruction… and build a panic room that can’t be broken into…. would you build two rooms?

And that thank you was about 14-15 years late in being understood, but it was finally received.

That supposedly happened in the orphanage, which is in the future from this.
She was being created to be a weapon against the fae before Leucosia and Walter stole her from the lab.

“Won’t” is short for “will not”
Ah, the joys of the English language. I was caught out in grade school writing “willn’t”.
Fail at English spelling and grammar? That’s unpossible!
Panel two seems to indicate that Lil Pickle Root does know him, or, instead of simply blocking the door, she would have impaled him
Wow

Well-said. And if anyone here happens to be a vet, thank you for your service.
You’re welcome.
She may want to remember that, the next time she wants to chop up Scarlett.
🙂
Waddle Plant needs to protect the source of Brownies.
Hell, I’d do the very same things for MY Siblings too…

It was a faerie, and it was at the orphanage. Castela remembered it upon meeting Callista.
