So if I’m the first post on the first comic, does that make me the original Wapsi fan?
It’s hard to believe that a tale as compelling and complicated as Wapsi Square started out so simply. Thanks for giving us such an amazing story, Pablo!
heads up for all the new readers, it would be in your best interests to just read the comic all the way through at least once before you start reading the comments. there are spoilers throughout, and its better for the first experience to be solely influenced by paul’s awesome story and art, and your interpretation of it. after the initial readthrough, you can start digging deeper, finding out exactly how much detail and foreshadowing there is.
anyways, consider this your spoiler alert, its the only one you are gonna get…
Wapsi Square is one of my favorite web comics. I’ve been reading it for about 10 years. I think Paul’s art is terrific and I like his writing even better, but the combination is nothing less than superb. Anyone just coming to it is in for a real treat. Enjoy yourself!
So, dear first time readers:
This may seem to go a little slow for a while, as Paul establishes the characters, their personalities, and daily lives.
It will get far more interesting as more paranormal and mythical elements get involved, but they get introduced slowly and a piece at a time, giving the characters and ourselves just enough time to muse upon how WEIRD that was, before progressing onward.
This story is epic and worth every award it’s ever won! Settle in; it’s a fun ride.

Im wondering if, when you wrote this, you realised just how big an ask that was?
I looked for your comic from someone mentioning Bud and Dietzel in the forum of Errant Story and now I’m hooked. Totally awesome comic.
