The way Doubt is looking at Monica and the look on Monica’s face, I hope the amendment isn’t something with Monica being their outlet for… “fun.”

As long as she’s still got the Clock Key’s blade in her head, I don’t think they can use Monica anymore. Shelly’s apparently blocked herself by fusing all her demons together. Maybe the demons have come up with some other access… Or a demonic version of Disneyland…

And Doubt better watch out. Monica set her on fire once, she can do it again.

I think it was. Monica refers to her as “self doubt” here and sets her on fire on the next page.

Yep, definately Doubt in her grundge period, getting her buns burned by the power of Monica’s outrage and will.

Although thinking it over, Monica may have other options to get Doubt to go away than a roast. We saw Bud ‘poit’ Monica’s Doubt into Jin once; I would assume Monica can do similar and dunk Doubt into a lake like Amanda. That she doesn’t automatically do this may be because she doesn’t want to risk damaging her own psyche; or that she’s accepted Doubt DOES have a place in her life…

I think that was before Monica knew she could poit anything including herself. As a matter of fact, Bud and Brandi didn’t seem to be very sure of what they were doing when Bud poited Monica’s doubt into Jin. That was just supposed to be a test, after all. That was before the GGGs were sobered up, though.

I agree that Monica has accepted that Doubt has a place in her life.

As I recall the story, that demon, whomever she/it is, was taken in by the GGGs and kept in the basement, after Monica delt with her via the butt fire incident. Eventually she crawled back upstairs and was noticed by Bud. The demon then started bugging Jin (bad idea, but not entirely her fault) and Jin sent her away to somewhere even she did not know where the demon went. That last sequence begins here:
            http://wapsisquare.com/comic/stinky/
So I don’t see how it could have been Monica’s present Doubt.

Tomorrow’s strip settled it, I think. Monica talked about Doubt bringing information back to her here and on May 23, 2007 in the “neverknowinglylie” strip. I don’t know how Doubt made it back to Monica, but perhaps Jin unknowingly poited her into the demon realm. The demons seem to be able to move back and forth between that and their hosts.

The demons hired to continue the possession after the other demons had been sacked, wish it to be known that they have just been sacked.
The new demons who have been hired will manifest in an entirely different style at great expense and at the last minute.

The tomato sauce topping is probably hot as lava. I have had more than one pizza where the tomato paste topping would burn your mouth even after it sat a while. That stuff really holds in the heat. In this case, though, It probably IS lava.

That’s cos it is covered by the cheese … in most cases. There are three pizza places in metro Detroit (Buddy’s, Shield’s, and Loui’s) that put on the toppings first, the cheese second, and the sauce last. They all do super deep dish pizza with tons of cheese, and not only is it super fabulous pizza, but you can actually blow on it to cool it off.

Not at all related to the plot, but I think it’s interesting that Doubt didn’t cut her hair to match M. Is that simply a stylistic choice? Or a passive-aggressive attempt to make M feel bad about her new ‘do?

I guess it would be hard to imitate Medusa if she got a pixie cut. OTOH, if she did and she wanted to go fishing, all she would have to do is pluck out a hair and she would have bait.

I don’t think that Monica’s demons normally try to imitate Monica’s looks, however.

Well, at first Doubt rather pointedly looked a lot like Monica; but as time has gone on she’s gotten several different appearances and is now pretty distinct. If she thought it would bug Monica she MIGHT get a pixie cut, too, but I suspect she likes using her hair like tendrils too much for that.

(The one of Monica’s demons I’d kind of like to see would be Gluttony. Given the way she can pack it away, that sucker must be HUGE!)

What Doubt didn’t say is that before the ancient law was amended, there were demon PACs out raising money to create propaganda both for and against the measure, and only the demonic anger over the current demon administration’s overspending of the demon budget led to a coalition of demonic lobbyists to push the matter though the demonic congress…

But we’ve already seen lawbreakers. Jin’s demon was breaking the law (hence getting sucked by through the one-way door to the demon world), and then we saw Jin’s Doubt and Monica’s Doubt breaking some rules (hence the head smashing by Tina 2.0). :)

Plus, it seems to me that Phix is a law enforcer (hence Tina 2.0 being afraid of her in a big way).

All that we’re really missing is a butt portal. :D
