An anachronism is something or someone that is not in its correct time. Either literally(such as a time traveler), descriptively(EX: 8 track tapes are an anachronism in the modern music industry), or a screw up in records were a historian assigns something to an incorrect date. if your wondering how I know this and other such things its because one time I got REAAAAALLLLYYY bored and read the dictionary.

Psht! Don’t blush! I do it too, and my 4-year-old is beginning to show interest as well.

I do like the use of Potatoes in pre-Columbian Europe–the most common anachronism I’ve noted.

The Dresden Dolls has a song named “Girl Anachronism” the music video is pretty good at showing it.

Anachronisms, simply put, can be things from different time periods that don’t belong together. Like Roman centurions with AK-47s.

Or, AK-47s in the hands of General Lee’s army (The Guns of the South, by Harry Turtledove; also suggest his The Case of the Toxic Spell Dump).

Really, Shelly? Anachronism is what you are wondering about?
Quantum Maintenance Apparatus would be what interest me…

A couple weeks ago i described my perfect girl to my coworker: short, busty, glasses, latina, red hair, history buff, all round nerd, but most importantly, and i quote “she must believe that you can not travel back in time” …. the more i read this comic
