“If you can keep your head while all around you are losing theirs
…then you simply don’t understand the problem.”
“Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances.” – Thomas Jefferson
Kind of like “confidence is that feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.”
Actually, on more than one occasion I have been sufficiently hopeless that I became completely calm. If you know you are totally boned, and nothing you can do will change that fact, you don’t need to panic…
Panic is for when your actions can solve a problem, but you don’t know what actions will do so, and what actions will make it worse.
And addressing anti-calm…
“A paranoid is simply someone who’s in possession of all the facts.” -Spider Jerusalem, Transmetropolitan.
It’s possible to be paranoid and calm. Few manage it, but it’s quite possible.
It must be a lack of CALM-munications *rimshot*
The ICBPJM is armed and locked sir!!!
