I see the older books are available for download. I have a couple of questions for anyone who has read them. First, do they all have additional episodes and/or backstory, or only certain ones? Second, Is “The Time Keepers Daughter” as bloody as the cover suggests. Specifically, is there more than this?

SoWhyMe, paging through ‘The Timekeeper’s Daughter’, the cover and the strip with May slicing the guard are it for graphic violence. There is several strips with Monica laying in the ruins of the flower stall she was body checked into by Jin. There is some blood, but it is done in the sketchy ‘flashback’ style. So there is another step back from the graphic nature of it.

And people say the US is behind the times for not joining everyone else and switching over. We have our reasons by golly! :P

Actually, as someone who lives in the warmer parts of the country, I’d like to lie to myself and say it’s only 35 outside when I’m dying from the heat…and I’ll admit that km/h might be nice…make me feel like I’m going faster than I actually am…

Ahhh…who am I kidding? I don’t want to learn a new set of numbers! :)

The ironic thing is that, had you been brought up on metric, you would think anyone totally insane trying to get you to use the English system, with it’s arbitrary units of measure. It would make zero sense to you, whereas metric makes perfect sense and is much, much easier to use and convert to different units. Just shift the decimal point. No converting to 16ths or 32nds. No ounces and pounds to try to remember. No cups in a quart to convert. None of that nonsense.

Our money is decimal based after all. Essentially, metric money. Oddly, the English are just the opposite with an arbitrary money unit system and metric measurements.

I refuse to use a measurement system which is entirely based off water. Tempreture, weight/mass, volume… everything is water.

It’s much simpler to use a system based off different body parts…

@ SoWhyMe – Oh I know. :) I loved using metric in science classes since it made calculations so much easier…and it’s also quite possible that if we made the switch it wouldn’t be so bad. If everything switched over at once, there wouldn’t be conversions to worry about…unless you still had old measuring equipment on hand…

You know, interestingly enough, Winter hasn’t quite given up here in North Texas either. I’ve been leaving my windows open instead of running the heat or A/C since it’s been warmer, and I woke up this morning shivering. 46 outside, and I’ve got three windows open and fans running…darn near froze my you-know-what off running around to close everything up. :)
