The Honor Is Mine

Hmmm. Must like the librarian look….. Rowr

  2. Fairportfan

And Monica thought she had problems when the GGs were getting frisky…

  3. fatuncle

Eyes right, eyes left, eyes rolled – she didn’t really need to say anything …

  4. ziggy78eog

Now, now, Monica, what could possibly happen? Other than crazy, romantic hijinks, of course.

  5. Zogh

I wonder if he likes riddles. I hope for his sake he does!

    (Views Flying Horse of Gansu)

Phix: “Oh! I see some of Feng’s work was recovered from Leitai’s tomb! How nice!”

    Fields: “Er, Feng, you say?”

Phix: “Yes, darling man. Only had one eye — Did some of his best work after the injury, including this bronze.”

    Fields: …. ?!?

  7. Fairportfan

Eyes: Talk about “Deer in the headlights”…

  8. Fairportfan

Phix’s knees are higher than Monica’s hips.

    • Dan

I have a friend that is about that tall, and I’m five ten. His hips are roughly in my lungs, so its not surprising that Phix’s joints would all be one step up on someone as short as Monica.

  9. WilliamTheWolf

Huh. Second panel looks like Phix has either pants, or some of her fur/feathers are returning around her knees. Would be funny, if in the course of their relationship, Phix kept letting little bits of her actual form slip in on accident

    • Fairportfan

Nah – it’s just the way Pablo draws knees.

  10. Leak

Shouldn’t that strip be titled “The Honor Is Max”? “Min” sounds so… small. ;)

    • stjen

I think Pablo once said there’s a glitch in the length of file names, and that somehow translates to truncated column titles occasionally. I believe it’s supposed to be “mine”, not “min”.

  11. Gunnr

Phix in human form is somewhat “statuesque” — isn’t that the current politically correct term for vertical overachievers of the female persuasion? — especially when compared to our favorite munchkin. . .

I love the spectacles. They give her a bookish appearance . . . . (chortle!)

  12. Jim

The way Dr . Fields looks , kinda makes me think of Aramaki from GITS , a little bit .

    • Hakkonen

Mmm, Phix vs. Motoko mudwrestling. I’m sorry, what were we talking about?

  13. Kaibyo

Why is that song from The Sound Of Music running thru my mind right now? Oh, you know – “Climb Every Mountain………………”

Of course, there’s always “She’s got leeeegs and she knows how to use themmmmmmm…”

Wow, from Rogers and Hammmerstein to ZZ Top in 5 mins. And I’m only 1/2 way thru my coffee, too! You can tell it ain’t Monday.

  14. jayessell

    Is that a split infinitive?
    He’ll be mixing metaphors next!!

Thanks to Monica he has years of practice looking women in the eyes.
(A skill I am yet to develop.)

  15. Spencey

Just found this comic and really enjoying it.

  16. jordinyc

“That was a lovely tour. Say, would you consider maybe pouring A1 steak sauce over yourself?”

    A1
    It makes a difference

    XD

  17. redbeard

Don’t know what Monica is getting miffed about — Phix is likely to be real handy in the near future – and her boss in a really good mood, if he survives. XD At least he’s very unlikely to be thinking about what Monica might be up to.

    • jordinyc

I dunno bout you buy my friends don’t go out with my boss. it’s just … awkward. Not saying it’s wrong just … yikes.

  18. msyendor

Lessee, arms behind back, mirrored posses. Hm. I wonder how Phix is going to handle actually *talking* to a guy. (Now where’d I put that book — ‘Making small talk – or – how to slay the guy without actually doing it’)

    • SoWhyMe

Anthropoligists say we developed smalltalk because we no longer picked fleas off each other as a means of direct social interaction. I don’t think I’d like fleas, but there is something to be said for the old ways.

  19. kingklash

Considering she usually has all written human knowledge at her paw-tips, I am willing to bet she is more civilized than most of us. Unless of course, somebody rolls a ball of yarn past her.

Hmmmm, I wonder if there is a idol of her somewhere in the museum?

    • Kaibyo

Ball of yarn?! What about catnip? eeekk! !

  20. oof

An earlier poster mentioned the knees/hips height equivalence.. Is it bad that the match I noticed was about 12-18 inches higher?

What if Phix showed up in a low-slung ‘hipster’ skirt, the same day Mon was wearing a senorita top ..of the same fabric??? The similarities would be…distracting.

  21. jayessell

    kingklash…

If there’s one in the gift shop, it would make a nice present.

(Assuming the artist didn’t make her butt too large.)

  22. Jens

heh, looks like Phix in human form is about 6 foot 4 (193cm). So she would still still be half a head smaller than me ^o^

looking forward how Pablo can handle that much woman, err, sphinx ;-)

    • Fairportfan

      Remember Lakshmi?

      • jwhouk

        Who? (LOL)

      • Virnin

        NOW we’re talking mud wrestling!

        • Fairportfan

          Naughty boy!

    • Tygr

Wait, according to interwebs law, isn’t some D-bag s’posed to crash in at this point shouting “PICS OR GTFO!!1!” at Jens?

I’m not sure about these things, as I don’t participate much in online threads. (My missus is five-eleven-and-three-quarters, so I don’t have much spare time. ;-D Really, I’m just replying to the concept of a female my wife [and Phix] would have to look up to see!)

  23. RKSAustin

Cue the playful, flirting banter! Another successful Wapsi hook-up!

  24. MerchManDan

Also, let’s consider how long it may have been since Phix has last interacted with a man. How many male visitors does she get in The Library, anyway?

  25. Defectuous

Yay for amazon women, but damn didn’t realize Monica was that short.

  26. Chris Mayer

Who knew she was so tall? She reminds me of my two sisters.
