To be fair, a lot of the hormonal changed that occur during HS have settled down to some degree, and nuances are more appreciated. That and you could be going to college with your great-grandma (or if Bud ever decides to go to college for some reason, add any number of greats to that).
Not to mention, the few huge assholes who became adults but didn’t grow up, and are still in testosterone chest-thumping mode… tend not to go to college. (Some exceptions, but it’s much rarer.)
I’m really fighting off the urge to say something about Alana based on her personal appearance and name. But I’d rather not. There’s PC, and then there’s PC.
I’m trying to figure what you’re getting at. It has me beat. The only thing I can think of, and I’m reaching way out in left field, here, is that you’re suggesting she’s trans. Could that be it? I’d be down for a trans character.
Depends on a lot of things, including how big the college is. If it’s enough larger than your high school was, the cliques don’t matter nearly as much because there’s enough room for everybody.
The paranormal community is much smaller than the human one… and with The Library, transportation all over the world is near-instant and free. There are probably vastly fewer schools in total, so finding out you went to the same one (even if your college is apparently in Japan) probably happens quite often.
Hey, it’s Alana! I was hoping to see her again. I liked her better with dark hair, though.
I’m guessing Alana is some kind of bird shifter.
“Get ya asses to ya classes!” after Cricket’s knockdown of someone whocalled her Jiminy.

GOD this is so true. You go off to college and everything chills down socially by a huge margin.

I went through high school in a large group of one and it carried over into college. But it was only a two-year college.
I must confess that I had totally forgotten! So long ago that dogs were big and spiders were small…

No, that’s not it. It’s something that means nothing but would certainly—and should—be taken the wrong way.
Someone’s in for a rude awakening. college is just as cliquey as high school.
Yeah, some people you’re better off if you never meet, regardless of your age or location…
