Notice how Paul is working that 1st panel to make each of the four characters stand out is individuals. Yes, there is a certain ‘style’ they al l fall under, (esp the two bookends…) but thats actually my point.
I don’t recall Atsali reading auras before! Handy if you can’t read body language nor expressions. Has Atsali been taking extra-credit classes at Mucho Mocha?
I don’t think Atsali is really showing any talent for reading the aura. She’s just putting what little she knows about Ruri together.
Atsali can see body language and expressions just fine, but she has no idea what’s they supposed to mean.
Ruri’s aura appears to be very visible, so Sali has no problem seeing it wax and wane, though at first she had no idea what it meant. Then Ruri told them that her aura got more visible as her energy got low.
Also notice how much larger Ruri’s speech bubbles are relative to what she’s saying. I am wondering if this is an indication that she’s just speaking quietly, but not whispering.
This reminds me of Castela – she also needs to put effort into maintaining human form, and used to “came apart” when stressed. Thanks to her school’s emphasis on maintaining the paranormal masquerade she no longer reverts to her original form – so maybe Ruri’s school did not force it’s students to always maintain human form?
Yeah, but she used to have her emotions much closer to the surface. Even when naked weiner-boy fell atop her, she didn’t get
all horn… OK, I see what I’m doing there, I suposse I’ll just move on now.
Given that her base form is undoubtedly the object she started off as, I can see why it takes a decent amount of energy to maintain a human form.
Especially being that teapot tsukumogami are typically portrayed as being badgers with a teapot torso.
That’s probably what Ruri would revert to first.
Ruri no doubt looks human because she learned how to look human at Para-school, same as we saw with Castela.
Needs lots of caffeine to keep herself together?
Well, if it’s a pain in the butt, maybe that’ll be the first part to fall off.
That can happen. I’ve see it happen to AI bodies in Questionable Content.
I wonder if Melon ever got her wallet back from those seals?
Sleepy airhead. That’s adorable.

Check out female Left & female Right.
Hmm, does Ruri whistle when she gets ‘hot’?
I thought she might scream under pressure.
Even better 😀

also how Atsalis can sometimes be so jam packed there is no “breathing Room” for the words in the bubble XD
Of course, if I can remember the correct email address for my gravatar, it helps me with my comments.

I think it was more that she was “leaking” . . . since the aura was dark, it may actually be an energy absorber.
I wonder what Ruri’s favorite flavor of tea is?
Matcha, at a guess, but it could be just about anything, especially if she’s one of the Yixing pots.
Pu’er I’d think…
You know, going back through the archives (as I am wont to do from time to time), I just noticed that Castela doesn’t show her horns much these days.
Yeah, but she used to have her emotions much closer to the surface. Even when naked weiner-boy fell atop her, she didn’t get

“Oh Sweety” reminds me of the call home to Mom from the film ‘Lucy’…
I wonder how well Ruri would get along with Tina.
