The expressiveness of Rosslynʾs hair ribbons remind me of how expressive the bow that Sawatari Megumi (沢渡 めぐみ)* has in her hair was before she & her family discovered she was a kitsune like a number of her family are, (rather than one of the human ones in the family that she and everyone else in her family thought she was) 🥴
Hmm… The tail didn’t seem to be out (or at least not up at fist-height) before Mama Sofia wanted it in her hand. Castella has basically called succubus tails out, asked them to tuck away, quite independently of the intent of the tails’ owners!
Next point. The tails have a cutting spike, but it’s hidden and tucked away unless needed for combat. The tail otherwise seems smooth and relatively soft.
I have a budding theory.
Without going TOO far into my dark teenage years browser history of certain genres of animated Japanese pron… (cough) prehensile tentacles have a well-established potential use with a sexual partner, particularly a female one. If the tail’s main purpose is “partner pleasing” (shall we very politely say) then it’s not so strange that it’s responding to the desires/intentions of others, moreso than the person attached to it.
It is not FOR Rosslyn; it is for OTHERS.

I wonder if male inccubae relationships with their tails are a little different? Maybe less like an over-indulged puppy dog, and more like a disciplined guard dog, following direct commands like a good soldier?
…Maybe SOME Inccubae. I have a hard time picturing Rosslyn’s dad behaving like an alpha to his tail… or at all. 😛
