This reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Starts off with hilarious antics and inconsequential jokes, but then, tension builds, problems arise, the main character starts getting over whelmed, and then they all die. JK about that last bit, but yeah. You even got the questioning her sanity thing, like that one episode. I suspect that you are strongly inspired by Joss Whedon’s work.
