Dietzel opened the newspaper dispenser to get the paper, and then it fell on him, locking him inside. She needs a buck seventy five to open it again so Dietzel can get out.
Yeah… This strip kind of wanted for another panel of Dietzel actually reaching into the dispenser and starting to overbalance it. :/
Not a critical flaw, but it would have improved the flow.
I always liked to think that the newspaper dispenser was really an evil overlord and attacked Dietzel in a fit of rage over it’s inability to move. ~<3
time for another simpsons moment. homer has two bags of groceries and maggie in his arms, when he notices the newspaper dispenser. he gets the front flap open, but with everything in his arms, he shuffles them around, grabs the paper, but transfers maggie into the dispenser.

Obviously a Sunday. Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, or Chicago Tribune?
Pity I didn’t stumble across this a couple of days ago.
