I take it the harsh and grindy text is to denote Lydia smoked too many cigarettes.
… or she wears the scarf around her throat to cover a horrible neck injury.
I always thought her voice was supposed to be kind of ethereal. It doesn’t look ‘harsh and grindy’ to me, it looks wobbly like there’s not a lot of power behind it.
Either that or she has a ‘stuck up’ Addams family aire about her.
I’m thinking a Transylvanian accent.
