Who needs but one life when you can have books?

I’d give a lot to trade my life for that one; a job laid back enough you can read.

Imagine going to college, mastering all of MS Office, being highly literate, a skilled writer, basically raised for white-collar intellectual vocations by supportive upper-middle-class parents
…and the only jobs you can find are “You’re male, aren’t you? Here, pick up these heavy things here, and put them down over there. Repeat until back injury or quitting time, whichever comes first.”
