You have problems related to powerful supernatural beings who happen to be close to you?!?

Interesting, Monica seems to know more about the Golem Girls than Tepoz ever told her. More about Tepoz, too.

Looking back, there were plenty of clues. Not the most obvious conclusion to come to, but Monica is clearly not just a pretty…face. She put one and one and one together and got “chimera.” Pretty impressive, considering she was snockered at the time.

She’s an anthropologist. Ancient myths and legends are, more or less, her speciality.

Tepoz actually used the (Greek) word “Chimera” while trying to persuade the Golem Girls to go away the first time.

Monica’s leap of erudition earlier was recognizing them as “golems”, probably from the symbols on their faces, though she didn’t say it aloud. Golems are creations of Jewish myth, long predating fiction about robots or Frankenstein, which were terrifying automatons in their own right, since they were creations similar to Adam, only… not made by God.

This may also be why Monica is describing of them here as demons or Leviathans, since those are also elements of Hebrew myth.

I am reminded of that “people see what they want to see” comic..

Tina hearing: Bla bla bla Date! (Hey interesting)
Bla bla bla Released the Aztec god of alcohol (Nope, not my cup of coffee. Not touching that)
Bla bla bla Conjured three demons, parts of fractured chimera, evil leviathan (Way above my pay grade, I serve coffee and the occasional advice. I’m certainly not touching that)

“No way! You had a DATE?!”

I’m now seeing Tina’s thought process like the original terminator: scrolling through possible responses.

It’s important to know which part we should doubt of our friends boasts or problem runts, as personal wievpoints can distort the memory of the reality.
