Something just occurred to me…Shelly recalls the spider-exploding-on her-face event as a major childhood trauma, but after the time forest wouldn’t that have been like 97,000 years ago?
Apparently a sphinx has an entirely different means of memory. Being immortal would put a huge demand on any brain as we know it. I suspect that her paranormal memory is very nearly infinite, and access to that information has a correspondingly equal potential.
She has all the same memories as the Shelly who died in the Time Forest. Shelly is Shelly regardless of the alternate timelines created by the calender. All the versions of Shelly probably saw that spider.
I don’t think so. My understanding is she was the ‘last’ Shelly, (or a couple other possible names), to enter the time forest, being on the final loop, but the first to arrive, and the only one to make it out.
After Shelly returned from the Forest, she reassured Monica that “I can remember ten minutes ago, like it was ten minutes ago” (6/3/2011). It’s as if her two lives and their memory-paths converged – her memories of her human life didn’t get “pushed into the past”.
How many psychologists do I need to line up to convince you that shock therapy is, in fact, considered to do more harm than good, regardless of whether any drugs are prescribed?
This is one of the cutest faces I’ve seen Monica make in a while. She’s had a lot of adult-face-moments.
I suppose this is also one, but it’s a very sweet and appealing one!
People can still surprise you, Monica.
Daawwwww….
Daawwwwwww indeeed!
Aunt Shelly for the win!
Not a ‘spider’ just a crying child.
She isn’t the Sage of the Forest for nuthin’, ya know…
Where’s Dietzel? Hopefully not in the middle of that hug crush.
He is in the middle.
But he is being protected by “cushions”.
Lucky dog.
So, smothering instead of crushing. Got it. :p
I’m totally not crying from how amazing this turned out! Her maternal instincts kicked in, suddenly her fear wasn’t important anymore. <3
More like Big Sis
Agreed 😏
This made me tear up ;^; *sniffle*
Me too… and, grin ear to ear at the same time.
Awwwwwww good for you, Shel. <3
No, Monica, everyone’s not okay.
But they’re getting there.

I hope Dietzel was able to leap clear before Shelly took Digit in her arms…

That must have been some spider…

Only in the time forest – to her friends it was less than a second.. 🙂

Shelly suddenly realized that she was traumetizing what amounts to be a child, and suddenly that wasn’t ok… good for her!
Sphinxes are guardians. That instinct just triggered.
Anyone notice that Digit’s face appears to have gone “spider mode” in that hug?
Complete with pedipalps?
Yeah.
Annnd Shelly. isn’t freaking out ! You go Shel !
One of which is pressed against Shelly’s face?
progress!!
Doctor Dietzel for the win! 😀
I’m pretty sure shock therapy has been debunked as a valid treatment.
Only by the pharmaceutical companies, because they want everyone dependant on their drugs

The lady is a Guardian for a good reason.
Yes, creepy though they may look, even spiders need a hug now and then…
