I hear, “lost in his own museum” and I can only think of Marcus Brody. (sp) Underrated companion of the great Doctor Jones.

I suspect its easy to do with the big libraries.
I’ve got lost for a few seconds in my office before and that’s just one room.

(someone moved a cabinet which I unknowingly used as a point of reference and was a bit confuzzled where I was for a few moments)

Getting lost in your own museum can’t be fun, getting trapped in your museum’s security measures because you forgot the code to deactivate them is likely a laugh a minute.

Been there, almost… Not a museum, and not trapped, but tripped the alarm and couldn’t find the reset code (which I never managed to memorize). So I had to make a choice, either run away and hope for the best, or stay and confront the guard dogs…

Those were big dogs, not the least bit cuddly, and they had me sitting nicely until the guards caught up…

I’m not afraid of dogs, but for these I was prepared to make an exception…

He’s reminded me of Marcus Brody since this strip, but this just seals it.

Lovely analogy. The whole setup and capstone with Brody was one of my favorite parts of that film.

PS. It seems that the demon collective isn’t very versed in how relationships, flings, and such work. I’d looove to see what happens if some dude ( or gal) fires-up Tina’s lovin’ side.. “demons in love” …. Heh..

We are still waiting for the group to take Tina to there favorite bar, so that she can meet the bartender there. Then they will spend an hour or ten looking into each others eyes while they listen to each other listening to each other listening…

I’m waiting for 2 of Tina’s demons to fall for each other.

Okay, this is humorous, but someone help. I’m afraid I can’t exactly pin down what part of this Monica is angry about.

Is she worried that Phix is going to emotionally hurt her boss? Is just irritated that it’s taken place period, and she’s not stuck with the mental image? XD

I dunno, maybe Monica is being snarky because she knows Tina is having some sport with her, and it was all in fun until she made the absurd remark that he could be a smooth ladies man, rendering Monica from snarky to incredulous…

M and Tina are both just having fun with each other. 🙂

      • Simon
        July 26, 2011, 5:46 am | #

Yeah, it shows in her face – this isn’t the angry Monica. Ths one seems more amused, and perhaps dubious of Phix’s taste in men…

Besides, it’s not like this comes as any surprise to her – Phix dropped a pretty clear hint about it quite a while ago…

      • bmonk
        July 26, 2011, 2:35 pm | #

Besides, the 3½ times repeated “shocked” was a clue. If she has to explain a facial expression like that, it’s because it isn’t really the one she is wearing.

        July 27, 2011, 6:44 pm | #

Paul, seems you and I must be the only two here who got the Louis Renault reference . . . .

    • NOTDilbert
      July 26, 2011, 1:07 am | # | Reply

Actually, it seemed she was being more sarcastic than shocked – She already knew they dated, and had already made the ‘maneater’ joke – I think its more just “I did not need to hear that out loud!”

Maybe Tina thinks if it’s “just us girls” she can dish the dirt freely…..

    Two thoughts come to mind:

    1) If sphinxes are generally shallow in sexual relationships, what does that mean for Shelly and Justin?

    2) Who says the last line? Has a 3rd person joined the conversation?

      # 1 is the one I would expect Monica and Tina would move to, eventually. Now that Shelly’s manifested her sphinxness and may be immortal (and is certainly 80,000 years older, mentally), I’d suspect her friends in the know will be wondering how this is going to work out, if it is. But what appears to be the sudden arrival of a new person may change the conversation…

Shelly has pretty much said that she is not immortal

  15. SonicThunder
    July 26, 2011, 10:29 am | # | Reply

Would make sense. Phix has been around since ancient man it seems. She’s probably had her fair share of lustful relationships with warriors that would put 300 to shame.

After a while, the ideal physical man would be boring (and harder to find in the modern world). So she’d be looking for quirky, which Monica’s absent-minded boss seems to be (based on the early comics where he actually appeared ^_^ ).

I’ve got no idea what sphinxes look for (hey I’m clueless enough about human women), but he has his points. He’s educated enough to be interesting to talk to, he’s old enough – by human standards – to get some stability in his life, and he seems like a decent fellow. So maybe it just turns out to be a sphinxish one-year-stand; a girl needs to get out of the library once in a while.

      • SonicThunder
        July 26, 2011, 8:03 pm | #

The mutual ground of both being ‘lost in their own museum’ could be part of the appeal.
