    hehe

sometimes the most basic of doubts are the most potent for eliciting a response 🙂

I’m really liking the oversized comics! They show off the art better than ever.

And not for the first time Dietzl is worthy of envy! I shall refrain from comments about Monica’s pose apart from – Thank you! 🙂

I feel rather silly for being jealous of a dog, but damn it, look at the first panel. I wish I was so lucky.

Whoa! So Doubt is also the demon in charge of OCD, huh?

I always sorta assumed that was the case. (not having real OCD I wouldn’t know for sure but I have been kept up several nights debating with myself whether it was worth it to find my car keys and hit lock, just in case I hadn’t before.)

Actually, that’s very accurate. I have OCD, and that rings true. Furthermore, some recent neurological research suggests that OCD may in fact be the result of a deficiency in the parts of the brain that allow one to be certain of something.
Neurochemically unable to be sure that you did something, even if you did it 10 seconds ago.

Schizophrenia may be the result of the opposite, an OVERactive certainty. your brain convinces itself that false things are true.

Love Monica’s lil’ belly pooch in this! I think I’ve fallen asleep in that position before, albeit with a cat curled up on my back instead of a dog against my butt. I’ve also woken up to that particular worry more than once, and had to get out of bed to check.
Have I mentioned I love how -real- this comic is, despite all the outlandish elements? You rock.

Dang Paul. Since the site redesign the overall size of the comics has gotten a lot bigger. Is there a reason for that?

Ouch, how can she sleep like that?

Love the new format! Gives you more chance to draw things we can *see*. Yeah, I also wondered how M could sleep like that…

Actually, one of my daughters used to sleep exactly like that (minus the dog) Quoth she: “I always sleep with my butt up in the air.” Of course, she was five at the time…

Ah, Doubt doing what she does best. Annoying the crap out of M.

And Dietzel is indeed a lucky dog.

I used to sleep like that too, but my wife kept getting up to check if she locked the door,
    Whoa, totally parallel.

Uh huh. Which means she probably didn’t have the problem one would expect M to have sleeping like that. Or, to put it another way…

@scotts13: A lot of young kids do that, the key word being ‘young’. Any adult who would try that in real life would wake up with one heckuva sore neck. I tried it once and literally couldn’t breathe! We know a pediatrician who said that she could tell when kids were ready to be discharged when they did that; the nurses jokingly called it the “positive butt sign”.

Question about Dietzel: I know drawings in WS aren’t necessarily to scale, but he looks AWFULLY big compared to Monica. As in, like, Great Dane size. Isn’t Dietzel a bull terrier? Standards get to be 60 pounds at most, true? 21-22 inches high? And mini’s are even smaller. Hmmm… Paul?

Monica is only 4’10 1/2″ tall, still within proportions. =)

        And nice proportions they are.
        Dietzel = my hero.

        “4’10 1/2″ tall”?!
That means she’s only *… calculating …* 7½ *bleep*ing inches shorter than me!

and who said Dietzel is a standard dog?

even in 2020, we only know he is NOT a normal dog in any sense of the word.

Believe me, sleeping face down when you have a large (and real: undamaged nerves) chest isn’t the easiest or most comfortable thing. This is the reason I have two pillows, so I don’t squnch in uncomfortable spots when I roll over, and wake myself up. I can’t say I’ve tried sleeping like THAT, but it’s more believeable than lying flat!

Interesting article about Mayan elders’ reaction to the whole 2012 thing…

(If the forum was still running full blast, i’d start a thread there…)

It took me 3 days to finally get through your 6 year archive.. and I have one thing to say to you….

    Awesome!

It’s been a long time since I’ve really enjoyed a webcomic from front to back like this one and it’s been added to my List 🙂

heh… only doubt I’ve had has been whether I switched off the coffeepot or not. Should be embarrassed to say I’ve experienced unlocking the door in the mornings, just to realize I’d forgotten to lock it in the first place… :/
