2 there’s one immortal left from the start of the calendar machine, Jinn’s mom was immortal before Jinn was, which was before the machine was started. So there is one immortal that’s unidentified (that was formerly mortal, there are plenty of immortals that were born that way. )
Well, give a few hundred years to save, and who needs more money? Not good enough.
Now, if the compensation had to do with good companions, that might be a much better inducement.
