You get that impression too? That the demons are actually out to help their mortals (or however you think of Jin) except the only tools in their toolbox are negativity/reverse psychology/etc?
Like drinking tiny amounts of a poison to build up a resistance?
Demons are a double edge sword, just like pain can warn you and make you survive or incapacitate you and leave you helpless.
Sometimes it takes the darkness to show you the light…
