I think you nailed it, but not the way you think. Teaching young paras to blend in means teaching them restraint, including disciplining them when they break things (like walls). Cleaning up their messes, even in the school, teaches them nothing. Announcing to the whole school that they couldn’t afford that field trip because SOMEONE broke a wall would drive the lesson home, so school regulations might forbid casting Mend Wall spells.

Second question: yes! There are some species of plants that come in male and female form, I’m thinking of holly specifically. The male plants do NOT fruit/produce berries, but have to be present for the female plants to fruit.
