Between Castela and Nadette, Atsali will get through this.

A)So we find out that Nadette is NOT going to the same college (if any college at all?) and B)We are “Pretty Sure” ™ that Skylar is going to be either her roommate, OR a significantly plot-armored person there at Dragon’s Wall, and due to the “must stay at the dorm’s” policy, are probably going to be hanging out constantly… which leads to C)Because Nadette’s SEER Powers DON’T work too good when it comes to someone she’s emotionally involved with… I’ll bet that Atsali and Skylar become an item, and until Nadette gets curious as to why Atsali hasn’t emailed or Skyped with her in a while, and ends up going to the campus to find out in person, only to find out that they are seeing each other, and it ends up breaking Nadette’s heart all over again…

Succubi are poly … and Atsali has enough succubus from her father’s side to adapt?

Ugh. Sudden “Lost Girl” flashback. Relationship “Triangles” are too simple.

Where did we learn Succubi are poly? Does Nadette know?

But I’ll imagine Atsali wouldn’t deal too good with multiple relationships at once…
Maybe if Skylar will become part of their item 😉

I doubt we can trust these people to express any racial trait from their animal kindred that hasn’t been expressly been mentioned in the comic. While in comic both succubus and sirens are known to have a reputation as sexual predators, which happens to somewhat match most stories about these, there are other people in the comic where the direct connection to their relative species.

Nadette is one of these. As a ursamorph she has a connection with bears, and when upset she manifest as a giant brown bear. Bears are not known to be particularly amorous nor do they bond in pairs or prides or anything like that. The mothers take care of their cubs for up to two years (I think it was) but then they are supposed to fend for themselves. Once they are grown up parents and kids avoid each other.

Now look at Nadette and to a degree her sister. Nadette is definitely into the pairing up game, and she’s locked on to Atsali. In pursuing a relationship with Atsali she goes directly against the nature of a bear. So Just because some species has some trait in our world or our legends we can’t assume that the same is true in the Wapsi universe.

However the fact that Atsali is a succubus / siren half blood and Skylar is a Succubus is probably enough reason for the school to stick them in the same apartment. As their species are known as sexual predators it’s likely that there will some kids who just can’t let that go unnoticed.

It’s known that homosexual bears form permanent pair bonds, at least some of the time, even though heterosexual bears don’t.

There will be a connection some how, but not a romantic one, really don’t believe Paul would have spent all this time with Sale and Dette just to turn around and pull a switch

Remember, Dette knows that getting herself involved with Sali will not end well for somebody. Perhaps that somebody is herself.

Knew someone would bring up Kevin, but how much did we really see of him with Mon?

        December 17, 2016, 3:54 pm | #

That was entirely a choice of Paul’s, nothing ever suggested Kevin was a bad boyfriend. In truth, most of what we ended up seeing painted Monica as a bad girlfriend.

… most of what we ended up seeing painted Monica as a bad girlfriend.

        Which she freely admitted.

Have never understood why ‘coed’ only refers to the female students

      December 16, 2016, 9:22 am | # | Reply

It’s because then men students were there first, so only the females were then called coeds. Language is not totally logical and this distinction is still used, although female students are now well accepted.

        But it’s “Co-education”
Went to one of the first mixed-schools (well, it had been going for almost thirty years by that stage), but everyone was simply called ‘students’

If, indeed, the two of them go to different colleges…well, I don’t see much future in their relationship. Hope for the best, though.

You mean their current relationship turning into a “long distance” relationship and then cooling off? A few things speak against it. Firstly they’re already practiced at regular Live Video interaction, secondly and more importantly is the Library. Near instant matter transmission makes even Loooonng distances as functionally close as being a few blocks down.

No, the biggest damper isn’t the distance, but it will be time. As anyone who’s gone through a rigours course of study knows, you end up not having time for much else. Throw on a scholarship dependent on a sport, and Atsali is going have to be a time management sorceress. Or hopefully have an adviser who puts the breaks on her overloading her schedule.

I suspect ‘Dette will go to the same university her family has graduated from and supported for six generations – though staying in the dorm named for your grandmother might get a bit awkward.

Third panel, when Nadette rests her head on Atsali’s bosom, the pressure makes the bottom string of het bikini top bite into the underboob. Just so you know someone noticed.

Seems to me that if Atsali couldn’t understand ‘a certain sexy coed’, that would go beyond naivete and Aspergerish inability to read faces, to an inability to understand how English conversations work.

If you can’t read expressions or body attitudes, you don’t know how conversation works.

I can’t say I agree with telling someone they’ll succeed because they put their mind to it. My man, Captain Picard, had some wise words on the subject.

“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life.”

    Mmm….
“sexy co-ed” is a term used to market pornography to older men, hinging mainly on the premise that the girls are very young, but just barely legally of age to consent to sex. Also taps into this hollywood-invented idea that co-ed colleges are non-stop wild parties where everyone gets laid (as opposed to say, studying and getting an education, but who goes to college for THAT?)

It seems strange to hear the phrase coming out of the mouth of a high-school-aged lesbian. O.o
