Well, obviously I agree. Considering how many people know they did something wrong, have no idea what it is, but apologize anyway, it’s good to know someone’s willing to pat you on the back for unknowingly doing the right thing. (that wasn’t very concise, was it XD)
How awfully depressing it must be to know and watch helplessly, certain that by so much as lifting a finger you destroy the spiderweb currently being built…
Is it just me, or do you get the nasty feeling that Monica’s deamons are trying to ensure failure so they can forget everything again? & whats in these cookies?… … what was I on about again? ooh cookies!
That “here, have a cookie” was an uncomfortable and condescending way to get rid of someone when it was an aging black lady Oracle in Cabrini-Green. It’s no better from a sphinx in a housecoat in an ancient library
Phix has the Librarian thing down, eh? She’ll guide you, but won’t do your reading for you. (unless it’s one of those Dr Suess read along days or something) You just gotta do your research your own darn self.
Now I want a big cookie. A nice big warm oatmeal cookie, and a tankard of milk. And one of Asimov’s Black Widowers books.
Wonder if we will in fact find out how some of these past attempts were like. We get all sorts of hints to ’em but never really the full story. Dang-nabit I wanna know!
Gods!, I hate people who send me into a situation with incomplete information unless you are willing to deal with the train wreck that will most likely come of this.
Sorry. I’m accustomed to having the ability to edit comments after they’re posted.
That was supposed to be something like:
If you send me into a situation with incomplete or otherwise inadequate information don’t be surprised when it all goes belly up.
Honestly, if I don’t have enough info to know which end is up I’m likely to default into ‘dustoff and nuke the site from orbit’ mode. It is, after all, the only way to be sure.
It must take LensCrafters all afternoon to make her glasses!
and…
Her clothing was a little ragged in earlier appearances.
She has no time to shop at the Big, Tall and Mythological Ladies Apparel shop?
Hmmmmm… I just now noticed the “comments” section. Cool!
I love the new page, Paul. The larger format gives you tons of room to play around… and oh my gods have you ever used it to great effect.
Frankly, the story itself is confusing the hell out of me. Still, I appreciate that you’re going for something more than the usual “gag a day” slice-of-life strip approach. The deeper layers can seem perplexing at times, but you’re creating a wonderfully “Other” tone in this strip (particularly in the latest installments) that holds an atmosphere of real enchantment.
And the art? Again, marvelous. I read roughly a dozen webcomics regularly, and in the art department only Sinfest and Punch-n-Pie approach or exceed your recent work on this strip.
Thanks, Paul. I’ve been reading Wapsi for almost three years now, and you keep me coming back for more, and topping what you’d done before.
Phix and her cookies.
They appear to be a reward for doing something right … even if you don’t know what it is.
Phix and her co…. Damnit, fairport!

Nice and concise, just in a really long rambling way! 😉

Um, I think it’s more a thinly veiled Matrix reference.
You mean, “Take the Red Pill, Monica”?
It’s a running joke with Phix http://wapsisquare.com/comic/heresacookie/
YUM!! A giant Phix-sized cookie!! Looks like it has pecans on, too. I wanna cookie!!!
I love your strips. Been following for years. Now I need a cookie! Keep on!
Kay
Where did the cookie come from?

Asimov’s Black Widowers books. You show great taste.
I don’t know if liking the worst books by one of the world’s best authors is good taste — but Asimov’s Black Widowers are nice enough I guess.

Word salad.

I find it weird that she apparently sleeps on the floor of the library like a common housepet.
Mathew…
That’s weird?

I am really enjoying the way you are managing to ratchet u the tension everyday, marvouls stortelling!!
Phix cookie’s look very yummy!
Oh wait is everyone talking about the last panel, not the second? 🙂
I think you’ve confused her goodies with her cookies. That’s cool, I do the same thing all thu time.
Oh, I wuz tired last night… I missed commenting on today’s strip. Well, it’s all been said upstairs anyway. 😉
Don’t eat too many cookies, M – I think you have to leave room to swallow a sparrow – wait – I think I’m confused.
