Sunny: no, because she believes she was still in the Q-Room when lil A’Sawi showed up, and she has giving zero hint that she recognizes either Widdle Pwant as being her younger self, or A’Sawi as being her older sister
Is Little Plant Pickle out where the fighting is taking place or is she in with Lil’ Atsali? I have a bad feeling about this … if she is too young to fully understand who’s a threat & who’s a protector, Little Plant could have over reacted and “nuked” the room. Oh … I hope I’m VERY wrong. Poor tween Pickle may have been too young to remember her actions of that night or blanked them out entirely. Whatever happened, she is going to greatly regret having to witness the next few minutes … and be powerless to stop it.
How much in the way of defenses did Little Plant actually have? The first time we ever saw Castela plasma-blast anything, was well after she was adopted by Kath, and it completely surprised her. She may have been quite helpless as a little baby potted plant.
Yes, but she’s been a tangle of Vines, complete with _thorns_, ever since we 1st met her. The plasma came later. (Recall the Sisterly Tussle they were getting into when Katerine lowered the Mother-Voice Boom of Doom?)
Pickle has to realize that she’s just an observer in the room, and she can affect nothing that happens there. (It’s kind of like an ST holodeck, only everything ignores her presence.) The images will probably just pass thru her.
Poor girl doesn’t realize this is just a recording. It’s sad she’s going to have to witness this at such a young age. Phix did try to warn her. Still, she’s a tough pickle. She’ll get through it
I’m left wondering exactly what happened to Atsali’s dad, Walter.
I mean, we take it as a given that she’s an orphan; she couldn’t have gone to the orphanage or been adopted unless all her living relatives were gone. In this comic (http://wapsisquare.com/comic/never-be-a-weapon/) they describe Atsali and Castela as the only survivors of what we’re seeing replayed now. But we don’t actually see, directly or indirectly, what became of Walter. Curious.
I think, until we find out otherwise, that the best we can ass-u-me is that Walter is one of the bodies under a sheet when the ‘Good Guys’ are walking the scene and talking of removing heads as a reminder not to be stupid in the future, going forward…
But not stacking them. That’s important as the last time they left the heads stacked on the senate floor that just confused them. They were thinking it was something like a demented snowman.
I think Pickle is in serious denial right now. If a grown adult doesnt address you or a lil adorable child with your sis name more likely than not you are not “there”. Doesnt mean the events taking place in front of her are not gonna hurt…. ouch @-@
Poor Pickle.
Finding out that all she can do is watch as Atsali’s mother (and, in many ways, hers as well) dies … Gonna mess her up.
And we have to wait until Sunday night for the next update…
She still believes this is real and happening right now!!!
I think it’s more that she’s acting as-if on the off-chance that it might be.

@guesticus
Or, there hasn’t been time for what she’s heard to sink in, because both the plant and Little Sweetie have been named explicitly.
Phix has been extremely careful about the time chops used when setting up this sequence, I think.

Little Plant Pickle is inside. Compare the wallpaper in the first and fourth panels.
We’ve seen this before – we know that didn’t happen.
check your archive – edited a bit, but…. 😛
I am wondering when Castela suddenly finds her arm *goes straight thru* one of the people… :O
…or a bullet goes straight through her.

Oh, she’s dangerous enough, as an MiB agent’s reaction when he finds he guarding the sleeping Atsali show…

She’s not that young
She . . . she hasn’t realized this is less of a door to the past, and more a window, hasn’t she?
No…she hasn’t.
I don’t think she’s realized it’s the past, yet.
Phix has probably run through this simulation at least once, and may be able to explain it all to Castela, eventually.
Yeah, but Stela has to make it out first

Hm. I need to review the exact wording of Cassie’s question. It may not have been asked carefully enough to answer re Walter’s fate.

PERHAPS Walter is not what Atsali’s mother believed him to be?
PERHAPS Walter was a double or triple agent, and the way that the Bad Guys got on Mom was because Walter TOLD them where to look?
PERHAPS Atsali is going to have to confront her dad at som point?
PERHAPS {he said, after the benefit of four years of retrospection} i’m stupid?
Castela could blast a few holes in the Library thrashing around with this echo of past events.
I believe that http://wapsisquare.com/comic/mama-quiet/ is the page related to this.

“I see dead people.”
Or, perhaps
“Dead people don’t see me.”
