Is that a loft? Man, I love sleeping in lofts; it is like a bunk bed, with only the top bunk. I just want to hug the scary looking floating girl, so she would stop frowning, and looking so sad.
Some of comments about the 3D effect Pablo had accomplished in the second panel yesterday piqued my interest, so i did this 3D rework of the panel; i posted it with Pablo’s kind permission.
Way way back, in the pages of Amazing Fantasy (a couple of months before they unleashed Spider-Man in issue 15), Stan Lee and Steve Ditko did an amazingly creepy little story about waking up from a nightmare.
@Fairport: Just went back and looked again – I hadn’t even noticed that Tina’s dialog had been tweaked. Superior work, even though I’ve said it elsewhere.
Wow! I started reading this comic a few months ago and came back to it three days ago. I’ve been reading as many strips as I can fit into a night for the last three days which makes the story very intense. It flows magically.
However, I caught up yesterday..and having to wait for each new comic is excruciating! But I’m so enjoying it. It’s also very interesting to read people’s comments.
Couldn’t get my eyes to cross properly,
so I used Red/Blue and the cardboard glasses.
Three planes?
Tina (and dialog)
Shelly (and dialog)
Tina’s hand and finger?
Gahhh! I would die/faint if I woke up to that looking over me in bed! Leave it to me to come back here at night when I told myself not to. *doesn’t learn*
ya know I went to see Paranormal Activity last week and it was ok. Watching the woman’s hair be blown by a fan off screen and say “It’s staring right at me! I can feel it staring at me!” was a 5 out 10 on scary-o-meter. I can’t help but think that if we ever saw the thing that was haunting the couple it would look like the little girl at Shelly’s bed. It would have made the movie worth watching.
Paula brings up the point I was thinking. I thought the demon in Shelley’s mind was her, as a kid, right after finding her mother, dead. And also, right before/during/or after cutting off all her hair. Also, I don’t think this is doubt. if it had a name, it’d prolly be like “Insecurity” which is vague/broad. This is Shelley’s metaphysical “little girl” who wants her mother back and won’t let others replace her. Hence why she wanted to attack Heather in the nightmares, coma-induced dreams Shelley had concerning Heather’s introduction as more than an acquaintance.
Oh sweet suggarbottoms that’s creepy!
Oh wow. Come on Monday get soon. I can’t wait.
excuse me while i change my pants…
The little girl is out. And I’m still betting that it’s Tina’s soul.
Nope, just another (not necessarily new) major player in the strip.
love it.
And I’m not taking anything away from the sheer creepiness of the whole thing, mind you.
And congratulations; you were absolutely correct about it being yet another nightmare.
No barfing yet, though.
By Great Skull Zero and Split Sky Ahau, that is terrifying. The awesomeness of this strip is ascending with dizzying speed…
I definitely would not want to come face-to-face with any of my demons. *shudder*
ACK!
Now THAT is a cliff hanger. I cant wait until Monday.

😏I’ve got an office desk under mine❗
Repeating what i said in yesterday’s comments:

ANd then waking up from that nightmare.
And then waking up from that nightmare.
And then waking up from…
@Fairport: Just went back and looked again – I hadn’t even noticed that Tina’s dialog had been tweaked. Superior work, even though I’ve said it elsewhere.
Another thing – Shelly strikes me more as the “Yaahhhhh!” kind, no the “Squeal like a girly” kind…
I agree. The girls scream has an effect though… it makes it even clearer how completely horrifying this must be to Shelly, I think.
O.O wwweeee!!!
Momma!!! That’s so friggin’ scary…
Floating off the side of a loft bed, it’s a Friday Lofthanger! Yet another Waspi first!

I agree…very spooky!
Man, Wapsi Square is starting to turn into Silent Hill.
I think the little girl may actually be Shelly’s Doubt and she’s now out and about because of her thoughts of Bud/Brandi’s book plan………..
not exactly, but she does get a nickname from future posts
Levitating dead girls by your bed when you wake up from a nightmare. Not on the top 10 things you want to wake up to.
I don’t know…I don’t think it’d be THAT bad. I think waking up to the Snuggle Bear wielding a chainsaw would be scarier.
And Paul….really….needs to do a psychological horror graphic novel.
this reminds me of ‘the ring’
but well.. isnt that shelly as a kid?
Seriously creepy. Paul your writing hasn’t been this good in ages, you’re getting consistently better.
I’ll be hiding under my bed if anyone needs me
*tremble*
um…. happy Halloween?
That’s kind of short for a nightdress on that little girl.
My nieces have worn large tee shirts like that to bed.
You raise a good point; so have I.
Couldn’t get my eyes to cross properly,

Tina’s hand and finger?
Isn’t that one of the sacrificeees?

Yikes! Thanks for the Halloween scare! 🙂
Colour me funny, but I heard Newt from Aliens with that squeal.
Planes (back to front):
Background
Tina (and her balloon – with minor tweaks to parts of the dialog)
Shelly
Tina’s hand (and Shelly’s balloon)
Tina’s finger

I’m going to have nightmares tonight. x_x
Join us next time for; H.P. Lovecraft is back in town, or who the hell left the necrocon open?
Wow, her bed is high up!
OK, that last panel scared the Bejesus outta me.
She reminds me of Katherine.
Why am I reading through this on Friday the 13th?
