It must be hard to be Atsali, sometimes.

As a high-functioning autist, I can relate to her.

Yup, so can I, in many ways.
I was made aware about 2 weeks ago that I’m very likely to be an ‘Aspie’… and now I realize that Atsali was one all along as well. Her high IQ but low social skills, inability to read facial clues or body language, etc… so many characteristics of Asperger Syndrome (a form of high-functioning autism).

Realizing this really made my morning, thanks!

Atsali; Even while she’s doing the ‘It’s Not You!, It’s ME!’, It’s still her overriding concern about ‘you’ that makes it, still, all about _her_…

In all fairness, if she says ‘It’s Not You! It’s Me!’… by definition it WOULD be all about her, so where is the surprise in that logic….

What’s wrong with the way Atsali was talking? She was just spinning out logical inferences from the information as given.

Only this: she was doing her hypothesis-spinning without any sense of the impact that her words would probably have on Skylar.

I mean, how would you feel if a friend of yours implicitly equated something you’d done, with something that someone else did which was (arguably) somewhat responsible for getting an innocent girl seriously injured and almost killed in a rather horrible way for no good reason at all? Wouldn’t this sort of message shake you up, perhaps badly?

… and Atsali didn’t realize what impact her words might have on Skylar. If she had, she could have phrased them differently (pointing out that any real risk was improbable and long delayed) so Skylar wouldn’t panic.

Once again, Atsai was well-meaning, but interpersonally rather clueless.

    What was Atsali’s major again?

Atsali is attending Dragon’s Wall on an athletic scholarship (flying), but I don’t think her major has ever be stated.

Poor Sali: at least she was trying to be ‘normal’, she just got carried away and forgot 😀

I feel like Astali’s chest got nerfed, that’s sad.

You’re right. She does appear to have had a major breast reduction since she first blossomed. I think I’ve sorta been noticing that for a while.

Don’t worry. It waxes and wane as her hormones dictates. It’ll be back with a vengeance whenever she’s going to be most embarrassed by it.
