I’m not really worried about the relationship, or commuting.
I’m worried about the expedition to the haunted mansion. All sorts of bad things could happen there, to bring an unfortunate end to their relationship before they ever have a chance to commute.
Shawna could end up being eaten by a grue. Castela could end up being dropped through a paradimensional wormhole, into an alternate-timeline world inhabited only by shrimp (where she would quickly grow bored).
Castela seems intent on charging in, and looking for ghosts, without doing as much research in advance as she can. That makes the situation more exciting, but also more dangerous.
I think most of us are speaking from life experience.
One person out in the great wide world full of new experiences and people while the other is still in the “same old” milieu makes it difficult not to grow apart.
Distance greatly increases the amount of work any relationship needs, and this one’s barely begun!
Is long distance even a problem at this point? With tech and internet I am closer with my aunt and grandma who live in Idaho and Florida than I am with my mother, who lives in PA (I live in NY less than an hour from mom) she refuses to use internet and I don’t drive. Add human tech to library portals, I fail to see why distance is an issue.
Zack Tilly what was thinking of Mongoose: they are only as far away as the nearest Portal if they wish to physically connect, otherwise, there is this ingenious new invention called “The Internet”, and “Telephones” (or ‘dumbphones’ for the young kids who wouldn’t understand rotary dialling if it leapt up and smacked them on the nose)
Speaking of which, what are Nadette and Atsali up to these days. Has A graduated college? Has N found a work interest? What are their plans?
As for Shawna and Cass, they still have a summer together. Put it to good use, guys! And where IS Shawna going for college? So many questions….
Awwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!
I was wondering about that… Glad they’re planning ahead.
yea… theres going to be some heartbreak there.
yeah. There’s an anvil a’cumm’n…
I don’t know, Atsali and Nadette make it work
“Uh oh!” said the toddler in the corner.
“Dooooooooom!” moaned the ghostly cat.
Do those sleeping bags zip together? 😉
jus saying,, me an partner figured out how to zip military mummy bags together… 🙂
Will absence make the heart grow fonder? Stay tuned…
Yes, absolutely it will . . .
. . .
But it may be of someone else.
Especially with a new, and therefore unstable, relationship.
D’awwww X 1,000
Why is everyone predicting things to turn bad?
With the Library System, distance is barely an issue

No, the only thing Stela didn’t want to know, was too much about the mansion itself, she didn’t want preconceptions clouding her mind
Guys, this is Paul Taylor, not David Willis. Heartbreak isn’t a guarantee

Exactly. New relationships are not stable to begin with, and the extra strain of long distance may be fatal.

So Shawna is a senior while Castella is a junior?
Believe there is a year difference
One thing in their favour: they are talking about it, rather than just ‘coasting’ and seeing what happens
