Wow, finally comments again!! been years!
and this is a great page, the two of them made a Kill La Kill cosplay! awesome!!
PS: the colors on this page need to be changed, i can barely read anything of the links and such couse of the brown background and the the grey color of the letters.
Super-glue is not toxic. Some claim it was originally developed as a replacement for stitches (my source is highly knowledgeable but unreliable, so that origin may be apocryphal). It can be safely used on skin,or even internally.
(And for some of us, it doesn’t even hurt to remove! It sucks when band-aids don’t stick, but comes in useful for super-glue accidents…)
Reminds me of one young lady, about the same age as these two, who was wandering around Boskone back int 1980’s in a costume constructed from a few strategically placed sea shells, a few leather thongs, and just enough fabric to keep it decent. At the time I didn’t know about tricks like using spirit gum to help a costume stay in place when it looks like it shouldn’t, but even granting that it was definitely eye-catching. I’ve always been bemused by the fact that the same amount and areas of skin that are demure on the beach are daring in the ballroom… it’s all context.
Feel like a comic went missing right before this one, with Jin and Monica talking about getting to old for trick-or-treating before realizing cosplay was as big as it is. I may have imagined it as well
If this is your strategy to get women to dress up like this at the next comic-con you attend… DAMN, good thinking!
Holy Toledo!!! O_O
“Holy Torpedoes!!! O_O”
FTFY 😉
Medium and high yield torpedoes
I think they’re still in Minneapolis. The background is Jin’s apartment… ;P
You think Jin already had hers ready?
Nah. There are four WS characters in that page.
If that line seems confusing, check this post in the forum.
o_o…
Nailed it! Gurren Lagann & Kill la Kill
Gurren Lagann, right, I knew I recognized that one, just wasn’t coming to me. I got Kill right away.
Same here! Bought the DVDs a year or so ago (complete with light-up drill bit ;)) but haven’t gotten around to watching it yet 🙁

Ah, Jin is wearing one of the more conservative Kill la Kill outfits.
I hope the First Aid Brigade where ever they’re going has a lot of gauze for noseplugs…
Holy trap cards
Superglue or epoxy there?
Elastic tension in the suspenders.
Most Ryuko cosplayers use some sort of adhesive to make sure that the suspenders stay in, *ahem*, the right place.
Generally, a cosplayer would use either spirit gum, or fashion tape. Superglue and epoxy are too toxic to be applied to the skin.
And hurt like the Dickens to remove!!

Atsali’s the one best suited to do Kill la Kill cosplay, with her girlfriend. 😉
And I’m sure Nadette would be happy to act as her costume…
I approve! 😀
Zenketsu yeeeeeesssssss
A QUESTION: Does anyone have a copy of the ORIGINAL version (“Supplies!”) of the 2009-06-08 page that Paul changed to “52 Pickup!”?
I apparently didn’t collect it until after he’d changed it.

Yeah, it’s like the difference between “budgie smugglers” (speedo’s to most) and “underpants” is only a few metres from the beach 😀
Actually a dude on a beach in a pair of speedo’s is fine, but the same dude on the same beach in a pair of underpants is a creep…
Atsali and her girlfriend as cosplayers in those outfits? Anime fandom is doomed.
hot damn 😀
*drowns in own drool*
Three cheers for anime!
Don’t lose your waaayyy
